The Park; Early Friday Evening [ 07/30 ].
Hoping to get a new sort of inspiration for the new turn he was taking in his search for Cassima and the Land of the Green Isles, Alexander had taken the book he'd borrowed regarding other planets, whole other worlds!, outside with him today, and took a walk through the park to enjoy the open space and the open air, without being restricted by castle walls or deadly cliffs. He liked the little pond and the little ducks and how they waddled over to nibble at bread crumbs cast on the ground.
He found a nice spot on a bench, watched them for a little while longer, and then, finally, cracked open the book and began to delve into the fascinating world of the Solar System. Unfortunately, fascinating as it was, it was not any more promising than anything else, and he did, on occasion, frown to himself with comments muttered, such as, "What's the point of a world where nothing can live?" and "Zounds!"
