Movie Sign Theater, Saturday Evening [ 07/31].

Now Playing:
MAWS!

The moment Ariel saw the poster for what was playing at the theater tonight, she was even more thrilled than she had been simply by going to the theater tonight with a possible kiss candidate. A movie? About sharks? Ohmygosh! So even if Operation Kiss Someone failed again tonight, she'd still get to watch a cool movie about sharks! The situation was beautiful, really.

She beamed happily at Peter, bouncing in clear approval of the movie, but, first, she tugged on his arm and dragged him over to the concession stand, because therein lied junk food, and she was a sucker for junk food.

[[ Ariel's here with [livejournal.com profile] theotherpeter, but theater is open for all your movie shark awesomeness needs! ]]

"So what are we getting?" Peter asked, a believer in communal snacks on dates. "Popcorn, candy, soda? All of the above?" He was just rather happy to be on a proper date. And hey, he didn't have to worry about her trying to talk through the whole thing.

"Well then," Peter said. "Then the real question is what sort of candy. I've always been a bit partial to gummy bears during a movie. Is that okay with you?"

"Whoa, whoa," Peter said, filing away the fact she had a criminal sweet tooth. "Tell you what. Gummy worms and Milkduds. Just a minor bit of extravagance."

When Peter ordered the candy, along with the large drink with two straws and the large popcorn, he was utterly dismayed by the amount the clerk said.

"And I thought this cost a lot in my time," he said.

"I'll call the clinic, have them on standby in case you make yourself sick," Peter joked. He carefully balanced all the concessions but the mints in his hands. "If you'd be so kind as to get the door?"

Peter would be happy to help her conquer her curse. If he had any idea about it at all. As for now, he was just enjoying her company. He really liked how even without saying a word, she was so very expressive.

"So are you fond of boat movies?" he asked, his tone hushed since they were now in the theater.

"Well if it gets too scary, don't worry, you can hold my hand," Peter said, all smooth operator. "Go ahead and pick a row, I'll follow."

Peter followed and settled in to a seat and started getting himself (and all the snacks) situated.

"So here's hoping there's not too many previews."

Peter took the offered mints with a smile. "This is a classic," Peter remarked. "You're in for a treat."

Well, look at that, a good old fashioned movie theater playing some old, dusty, crappy movie, the original one! Not the eighteenth billion sequel that Farnsworth would have seen back in the future of the thirty first century.

He couldn't help but wonder if this was really the original one, or that version where they replaced all the special effects sharks with stuffed shark toys because they figured the real ones were too scary or intimidating or whatever the crap it was.

Well, only one way to find out. Farnsworth bought himself a ticket and a bucket of popcorn, and went on in.
