Magic Box, Thursday, 8/05
Things felt weird in town today. It was giving Tara a headache. Also, she could swear the cockroaches out by the store dumpster were the size of her hand.
She decided to blame the apparent overactive imagination on Wesley's demonology books -- they were full of everything you never wanted to know went bump in the night.
Folding her arms and resting her head on them, she decided to just take it easy for the rest of the day. Clearly she was getting all stressed out over nothing.

And made her look apologetic when she showed up a little later than usual, chow mein and orange chicken from Ching Tai in hand.
"I know you're probably starving by now," she said, hurrying in with the bags of food. "There were, um, let's just say complications with food pickup."

Stupid intangible bad-vibe-ing.
"...you met Wesley, huh?"

Which sounded silly even to a witch.
She shrugged. "Yeah. Are all the watchers like him? He's kinda cool."

Big giant holes eating things. Seriously. This island.

She shot Kennedy a hopefully look. "Does that mean I'll get to meet Constance someday?"

She leaned against the counter and smiled, almost-- almost-- something that vaguely approximated shy for just a second. "I really, really want you to meet her, yeah. And my dad, too."
Oh God, when did the meet-the-family thing come into it?

This had nothing to do with the giant gaping tears in reality outside. But it was nice anyhow.

...riiiiiiiiight.
"Since, you know, they both keep asking me about you and stuff."

That flutter in her stomach: Not going away. Kennedy could do that to her anytime, giant bugs or not.

"Wow," she finally said, in a small voice. "That -- all that? For me? I just -- wow."
