Outside Decadent Delights, Thursday
There had been cockroaches, and then more, and a hole, and -- it was not a happy goddess that stepped out of the store and marched to the sidewalk to meet Detective Reese.
'Dite had a disgusted look on her face. Beside her, about waist high, floated a cockroach, still alive, barely, and feebly waving it's antennae.
"Look at this! Just look! What are these things?"
She knew what they were, it was a rhetorical question. What she really wanted to ask was, 'why is it here and what is it doing in my shop?'
(ooc: for two! Reese modded with permission -- after phone call from Here.)

She cussed; there was clearly a difference.

Neither of them noticed that another hole was seeming to open up, this time on the right side of the store.
"Would you shoot your gun so I can show you my hole?"
No, passersby, that was not as dirty as it sounded.
no subject
"Maybe you can even chuck that stupid roach into it."
no subject
She stopped, because in just those few seconds, the second black hole expanded and encompassed the entire store. 'Dite's Decadent Delights was . . . gone.
Aphrodite stared. The roach slowly fell to the ground, where it feebly began to drag itself away to find someone else to terrorize.

"'DIIIIIIIIITEEEEEEEE!" Karla screamed, breaking into a run. For all she knew, 'Dite was still in the store.

It was the only thing she could do. It was the first time Reese saw a whole building vanish.
no subject
Her building. Her store.
She was aware that Karla was coming closer. Aware that Dani was still staring beside her.
"Hi, Karla." 'Dite's voice was distant. She pointed at the barely moving cockroach. "Kill that for me, would you?" First things first, after all.

"I think we should clear the area," she advised. "There's no telling if that black hole will open up again."
no subject
She looked down at the blond witch still hugging her. "Karla, this is Detective Dani Reese. Reese, my friend Karla. She works at the store." 'Dite tilted her head. "Or, did, anyway."

"Your paycheck will be late, Karla, it was in the drawer of my desk in my off--" And she remembered what she'd forgotten.
"Hercules." It was enough to make her sit down and pout. "Hercules was in my office."

She was also hoping that this would distract Reese from trying to remember where she knew her from. Karla had an idea and it wasn't the store...

She continued to look at Karla with a puzzled frown, "I'm pretty sure I haven't seen you in the store before."

'Dite glanced around and then gave a deep sigh. "It's Fandom again. And I don't think it's going to get any better any time soon." With that, she raised a hand and pointed to the hole where the church used to sit diagonally across from the store.

Reese shelved trying to place Karla and looked at the graveyard. "You're right, they're cats."
This was said with absolutely no fondness for the creatures at all.

It appeared like a human, but it obviously wasn't. It walked weirdly, almost sidling, and even from where they stood it had hideous features.
It seemed to be going toward the kittens at a rapid pace.

Now she was running.

"Karla, wait!" And then she did the smartest thing she could think of: she followed Karla at a full run, muttering, "That girl spends far too much time with her roommate."
no subject
"Kill it!" she yelled, throwing a shield over the kittens.
no subject
"The hell is that?" She hissed.
no subject
"That's. . . disgusting."
It might have been human once, but the features were distorted, almost melted, and it gave off a strange odor.
"Please don't get too close."
no subject
She had the oddest desire to examine it more closely, but pushed that aside. Now was not the time for Black Widowing, not with buildings vanishing and the like. "Kittens are fine though. I think they're the kittens from the church."
no subject
"I'll have the troopers scout the area for these things."
no subject
Notice she didn't say she'd get them to safety. Aphrodite wasn't sure what was safe on Fandom at the moment. "Please stay in touch, though, okay? Both of you? Promise?"
no subject
She called in her phone and slid it into her pocket. "I'll keep my phone on me, just in case," she promised.
