Atlas Gym - Tuesday

Rose was in a remarkably good mood for spending the majority of the past 24 hours in the gym. Jessi was in a remarkably good mood too which was disturbing.

At least until Rose realised that Jessi's good mood was based on the understanding that it was Rose's last day at the gym.

Oh, how she loved breaking the news that it wasn't.

Jaina had spent the last week training on her own as sort of a self-test of how she dealt with being on her own for hours on end. Yeah, it was sad. And okay, maybe she'd picked Rose's day to head back into the gym on purpose. "Sick of me yet?"

"You've only been in the gym for like sixty seconds," Rose pointed out with a smirk. "Even I've got more patience than that."

"Then I probably shouldn't tell you how long my workouts tend to go, but it's longer than sixty seconds," Jaina mused.

She rolled her eyes. "No way! You work out longer than minute? Shit, that's what I've been doing wrong."

"I should just carry something with me at all times in order to throw at people if I need to," Jaina sighed, horribly put-upon. "Brat."

"We're in a whole gym and you can't think of anything to throw at me?" Rose asked, apparently having a death wish here. "That's really kinda sad, you know."

"This is why I've been training alone," Jaina said, laughing. "Keep in mind, I can Force throw something if I'm really feeling the need."

She shrugged, unfussed. "I can duck even when I don't see the thing leave the hand," she pointed out with a smirk.

"This is sounding dangerously like I'm going to feel challenged into trying it," she realized.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Rose replied innocently.

"Liar. Does this mean it's been a boring day so far or do you just like antagonizing me?" Yeah, she was so antagonized.

Rose remained innocent. "Yep."

"I can Force thwap you without even thinking anything," Jaina warned. "I'm going to take this to mean you're having fun at my expense." It was so not really at Jaina's expense if she wasn't really annoyed.

"Sure you can," she agreed, grinning a lot. "Go for it. It'll be fun."

Shaking her head, Jaina decided to go easy on her, and aimed to flick Rose's ear without moving her hand at all. Yes, that was easy.

Rose shrugged and turned away. And flicked a pen back at Jaina.

Oh ha, look who was swatting the pen away in midair. "Did you wake up nine today?" Jaina wondered.

"Nine was a good age," she agreed. "I could totally be a kick ass nine year old."

"I bet you could. Seriously, though, your good mood- I assume here- is going to start scaring me soon." Lies.

"I can see the shaking that's happening around your boots," Rose said, smirking a little. "It'll get to your knees next!"

Jaina laughed, and had to finally ask, "What's with all the cheer?"

"Cheer?" she shook her head. "Not much. Just hanging out."

"No coffee? Extra sugar? Really hyper gremlins?" she teased.

Don't taunt the gremlins, Jaina.

"That last one is you," Rose reminded her with a smirk. "And if I drink coffee on Tuesdays, I wanna punch Jessi. I did get to remind her I'm not done here until next week though. That was fun."

"So it was like the verbal equivalent of punching Jessi?" she grinned.

"Awww, now you make me wanna punch her for real," she complained sadly.

"Well, it is a gym. Just ask her to spar. Oh, look, your fist slipped into her face," she shrugged. "Accidents happen."

She'd nearly gone dark sidey not too long ago, had that been mentioned?

Rose shrugged. "I sparred with her once like a year ago cause she thought she could beat me with tae bo. It's not worth it."

Holy crap, look at Rose be something like restrained.

"Did you just say it's not worth it?" she repeated. "But you still want to hit her?"

She shrugged again. "Yeah, totally, but Dimitri'll be pissed, and my trials are in the next few weeks, and they still haven't decided if I get assigned to Lissa or not. So - if it fucks with all of that, yeah, not worth it."

"Ah. I see that point now," she said. "Do you know when you find out if you get Lissa?"

Rose blew out her breath. "I guess after the trials if I ace 'em. I mean, everyone knows that's how it's supposed to be, that's what Lissa's parents wanted too, but with everything -"

"You're awesome, and it will be fine because you're going to kick ass and show them all what you're working for," Jaina said, totally confident.

"And cause I'm not gonna punch Jessi even though it'd be really damn nice to," Rose agreed, giving Jaina a grin.

"And if you really need it, I can hit her by proxy so you don't have to. I haven't hit anyone in a while." That was seriously her reasoning. There was something wrong with her.

Rose snickered. "Well, you know, if you're not doing anything anyway..."

"She'd have to really deserve it," Jaina said. "I could destroy her. If I haven't gotten arrested yet back home, I'd like to avoid it here unless I have a really good reason."

"If she really deserved it, I'd do it," Rose said, rolling her eyes a little.

"Then we seem to be a an impasse on the Jessi punching. Sad," she realized.

"It'll happen," she assured Jaina. "One day. It'll happen."

She paused. "It's so sad I'm looking forward to it. There's something wrong with me."

Rose smirked at her. "I don't think that's what's wrong with you."

Jaina raised an eyebrow at her. "And what exactly would you say is wrong with me, then?"

"Oh, I think you know," she decided.

"Actually, it could be a lot of things." Sadly, this was true.

And shoot things!
