Trooper Station; Monday [ 08/30 ].
Angua, feeling better and even a little personable with the waning of the moon, settled in for another boring day of deskwork at the station, so she didn't think much of the folder Ralph had handed her.
Until she looked at it. Her jaw tightened.
"Ralph," she said, "what is this?"
He only shrugged, and Angua opened the folder. "This is a joke, right?"
Sadly, Ralph shook his head. Angua looked at the second page. "You cannot be serious."
And then Ralph looked apologetic*, and Angua could only let out a long, disparaging groan. How was this even possible? She had certainly not signed up for this. She would not sign up for something like this. She was not a teacher, she was a bloody werewolf. But there it was, syllabus and everything, and she couldn't help but wonder if somehow, Carrot was involved, but she knew better than that. Carrot would at least tell her.
And look at that, they even bloody picked out a TA for her. "Maladicta," she muttered the name with distaste. "Why does that sound so familia--?"
Frowning, Angua pulled out her Gooseberry and bravely sat through his annoying entreaties to help before simply asking it to go write a note to Carrot and see if he'd know. The message came back quickly, and very simply:
"Borogravia, in their most recent war with Zlobenia, Lance Corporal of the Tenth Foot. Is everything okay?"
...
"Oh, bloody hell!"
No, it most certainly was not okay.

* Okay, Ralph smelled apologetic.

Then she grunted, shaking her head. "At least they gave me a subject I actually can teach, I'll admit. And that they didn't expect me to waltz into a classroom teach underwater basket weaving."

Pause.
"Before I came here, anyway."

"No; I find that it's...mostly intuitive."
To say the least.

Was it bad that Angua wanted to encourage her students to do that, just to give them something other than paperwork to do?

"Any of my kids wind up that stupid," she said, "we're taking a field trip to the wilderness and they'll conveniently found themselves lost in a cave, straight a mama bear and her cubs."

"Can I help?"
no subject
"I'm not sure," she admitted. "Give me a bit to sort of get used to the idea and get some sort of plan going. But I know for sure at least one class could be helped by a second person."
She would just have to know what any of her classes were going to be first.

Summer decided to pay her a visit to see if she needed anything and hoped Angua liked baked goods from JGOB.
[Forgot to tag in earlier. Fail me, fail.]

But she didn't recognize the woman, which almost made her think a bribe was about to be underway, if the woman's intentions didn't smells so clearly harmless.
"Hi," she said, "can I help you?"

"Hi! I'm Summer Pitt. I was assigned as your teaching buddy for the term," she explained, a cheerful smile on her face. "I come bearing gifts in the form of baked goods." She was taking her duties as teaching buddy very seriously.
[LOL, thanks.]

"If this is all an honest to goodness joke," she said, "I am really wondering who has the time to actually go through this many levels of it. If it is not a joke, I have just one question."
Pause.
"Teaching buddy? Really?"
no subject
"I'm here in case you have any questions or need anything teacher-wise," she explained. "Something to that effect, anyway."

"I didn't sign up for this...*"
