Trooper Station; Monday [ 08/30 ].

Angua, feeling better and even a little personable with the waning of the moon, settled in for another boring day of deskwork at the station, so she didn't think much of the folder Ralph had handed her.

Until she looked at it. Her jaw tightened.

"Ralph," she said, "what is this?"

He only shrugged, and Angua opened the folder. "This is a joke, right?"

Sadly, Ralph shook his head. Angua looked at the second page. "You cannot be serious."

And then Ralph looked apologetic*, and Angua could only let out a long, disparaging groan. How was this even possible? She had certainly not signed up for this. She would not sign up for something like this. She was not a teacher, she was a bloody werewolf. But there it was, syllabus and everything, and she couldn't help but wonder if somehow, Carrot was involved, but she knew better than that. Carrot would at least tell her.

And look at that, they even bloody picked out a TA for her. "Maladicta," she muttered the name with distaste. "Why does that sound so familia--?"

Frowning, Angua pulled out her Gooseberry and bravely sat through his annoying entreaties to help before simply asking it to go write a note to Carrot and see if he'd know. The message came back quickly, and very simply:

"Borogravia, in their most recent war with Zlobenia, Lance Corporal of the Tenth Foot. Is everything okay?"

...

"Oh, bloody hell!"

No, it most certainly was not okay.

* Okay, Ralph smelled apologetic.

"Something wrong?" Reese asked, entering.

Reese paused, then. "I take it you didn't volunteer?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-08-30 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's rough," Reese said with a shake of her head. "I remember Gibbs teaching a class, what's your class?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-08-31 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't recall," Reese replied with a frown. "Tracking wilderness? That's cool. I never learned that in the Academy. Is it hard to learn?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-08-31 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Really?" She moved to her table and leaned against it. "That's interesting. You think I can learn?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-08-31 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Tempting but I think I'm fine with the paperwork here." Reese returned the smirk. "But I'd love to discuss it with you. Might be interesting."

"That'd be fun to hear." Reese smiled. "Remember the time Gibbs' kids got caught for the stunt they pulled?"

Heh. She liked Angua's thinking.

"Can I help?"

Summer hadn't been able to find her fellow teaching buddy at the welcome picnic over the weekend, so with a bit of research (and Summer was good at that), she'd managed to find out where Angua was working. It wasn't that hard, given Fandom's size.

Summer decided to pay her a visit to see if she needed anything and hoped Angua liked baked goods from JGOB.

[Forgot to tag in earlier. Fail me, fail.]

Summer wasn't one to bribe people (unless it was in good fun and completely harmless and even then, it was extremely rare for her to do so). She left that to her twin brother Dirk, who was so much better in that department.

"Hi! I'm Summer Pitt. I was assigned as your teaching buddy for the term," she explained, a cheerful smile on her face. "I come bearing gifts in the form of baked goods." She was taking her duties as teaching buddy very seriously.

[LOL, thanks.]

"It's not a joke, I promise," Summer cracked a smile. She was one to play jokes on people that were of a smaller scale. "I guess since the students get big siblings, the administration wanted something for the new teachers." As far as she could understand, anyway.

"I'm here in case you have any questions or need anything teacher-wise," she explained. "Something to that effect, anyway."
