Jaina was still feeling a little out of sorts after yesterday, which she figured was a good excuse to do a shot when she got into work, before switching to water for the rest of the night. Sometimes you just deserved to do that sort of thing. It wasn't breaking a personal rule, just bending it.

Even if Tino gave her a Look for it. "Like you've never had those days," she replied, and got to setting up for the night.

I have cheese fries and I declare it Pard's fault. (They are really yummy.)

Appearances needed to be created and maintained. After the morning Bruce had, people would typically have a stiff drink to deal with the embarrassment. Bruce abstained from drinking alcohol in an attempt to avoid damaging any brain cells and to keep himself at his peak mental sharpness at all times.

Bruce had a way around that. "Could I get some whiskey?"

Jaina wondered if it should be weird that she was serving a student. One she thought was probably underage. And then she decided she didn't have to feel too weird about it since he wasn't her student. "I can do that," she said, going to get his drink together. "Bad day?"

"Ever been bit by a gremlin?" Bruce asked. "And do you know what a mime is?"

"I'm a Skywalker," she explained sympathetically, and just for that she put a little bit extra in his glass before sliding it over. "You mimed?"

"Not very well," Bruce said in a tone that suggested that maybe - just maybe - that was the worst part. "People aren't helpful at all with gremlin bite victims, are they?"

"No. There's not much you can do to begin with, and so people figure they might as well just get video of the whole thing," she sighed.

John slid onto a stool with a sigh, waving at Tino for his beer while complaining that, "Madagascar won't die."

"One person got pictures. No video, but I assume it'll be on the radio," Bruce noted as he held onto his drink.

"This is not the first time this week that your opening line's made me stare at you," Jaina said after a moment of staring.

"Of course it will," she said. "Sorry. If it helps, you're talking to a seasoned gremlin bite veteran. It could be worse."

"It's not my fault you don't understand me when I talk," John countered, smiling his thanks to Tino for the chilly bottle.

"What's the worst one you've had?" Bruce asked.

"This is a complicated question," she said. "There was the one where I thought I was part of a dance troupe-" The Pussycat Dolls are not a dance troupe, Jaina. "-and one where I thought I was a Care Bear. Those were pretty traumatic."

"Yes it is," she replied. "So why does Madagascar need to die?"

"'Cause it was all that was left when I was destroying the world oh, five minutes ago." It sure was nice living right by the bar.

"I can see why," Bruce said, focusing on the Care Bear. "Thanks for showing me the bright side."

"Really? Madagascar's more resilient than I would have thought," she said, still entirely confused. "So what'd you do to the world now?"

"Happy to help," Jaina said, looking at the drink. "I'm surprised you haven't finished that yet."

"I'm sure the singing animals have something to do with it," John added.

"Don't make me start hitting you across the bar," she said. She so wouldn't. He was all the way over there.
