Covent Garden Flowers :: Friday, September 17
Vida had stepped outside the flower shop to sweep the sidewalk when a vicious flying piranha came at at her. She shrieked and ducked in time to avoid its teeth, but its jaws clamped down on her hat and took it with it as it flew past.
Of course, that meant war.
Vida swung at the piranha with her broom. "You give that back right now!" she said, striking the fish repeatedly until it flopped to the ground and was still. Gingerly, she pried the jaws from her hat and inspected it with a sigh. She might be able to repair it.
Then the piranha began moving again, lunging for Vida's ankle. Still clutching her hat with one hand, she swept the broom at it with the other and dashed back inside the store, slamming the door behind her.
Covent Garden Flowers was technically open, but closed to blood-thirsty fish.
