The Park; Friday Afternoon

Right, so, flying piranhas were weird. Flying piranhas that didn't quite know how to die the first time? Weirder. But it wasn't anything Luke couldn't handle.

Naturally Luke had to be outside fighting at the first sign of danger (careful this time not to fall into any portals) because that was just the type of idiot he was. He had managed to find a sizable pack of piranhas in the park and fought them off with his sword...and then fought them off again when they came back to life. He enjoyed the danger, small as it was, having sort of missed monsters trying to kill him all the time.

Yeah, he was weird.

After that was taken care of Luke decided to perch himself on top of one of the park benches, surveying the remains of the piranhas he had taken care of and deciding that he was going to need a long shower later. It turned out zombie fish smelled worse than regular fish.

Considering he was the son of the sea god, Percy had thought maybe these creatures would listen to him like almost all other sea creatures did. That was not the case so he'd spent the majority of the day at the beach, drowning and slicing the piranhas until he'd had a pile.

Now, with Riptide still drawn, he'd made his way back into town, smelling pretty bad himself and looking dirty but otherwise fine. He wasn't surprised to see Luke.

"Interesting island," he said, making his way over, eyes jumping around to look for more of the flying piranhas.

"I told you," Luke said with a smirk. He pointed his sword down towards the fish bodies. "Aren't these supposed to be your friends?"

"Yeah, I thought so," Percy said, poking that pile with the tip of his sword. "I tried talking to them and they weren't very cool with that."

Basically, they'd bitched him out when he'd tried.

"It's not the first time something hasn't listened to me. Poseidon's not universally liked."

"Yeah, I've heard stories to that effect," Luke said. "At least you're getting to see some action that isn't just sparring?"

"I could have done without them coming back to life after I'd drowned them once," he said, shaking his head. "That's more Nico's thing than mine. They'll be his undead army of fish."

Nico was intrigued by flying fish. He'd slashed at them and watched them fall to the ground, but when they rose up as zombies, Nico focused his eyes, pointed his sword and ordered them to fight on his side.

So far, it seemed to be working and he was walking through the park with a friendly swarm of flying zombie fish surrounding him. His body was starting to tire from the effort of controlling them, but it was cool to see the zombies piranhas attack the non-zombie piranhas and create more followers for the demigod.

Luke looked more than impressed with Nico's ability to control the psychotic flying fish, and was yet again jealous that his cousins were far more powerful than he ever would be.

But, naturally, he greeted Nico with a smile anyway. Like he'd actually admit to being jealous. "Looks like you're having an easier time making friends with the fishies than Percy did."

"Yeah, I think they're a little angry to be chatting up anyone," Nico said, smiling a little at the thought that he was doing better than Percy. "Though it's pretty exhausting work." He was so going to sleep well later.

"I can see how controlling a league of undead fish would be tiring, yeah," he agreed, grinning. "What are you actually making them do?"

"I told them not to attack people but they can fight amongst themselves as much as they like." Meaning every minute or so, a zombie fish would die in battle against a living fish or another zombie. "They don't seem to mind it and it's a nice workout."

"They won't even talk to me," Percy whined, impressed by what Nico was doing with the fish. "I get a whole bunch of hissing and angry words in my head."

Nico grinned at Percy's whining, sending a few of his minion fish to fly past his cousin. "These guys aren't exactly thinking on their own."

"That's still pretty cool to see," Percy had to admit, ducking a little when the fist whizzed by his head. "Having fun, Nico?"

"Just a little," Nico grinned, wiping some sweat from his brow. "I'd missed the monsters."

Jason had a baseball bat, some old clothes, and a very strong need to hit things. He'd made his way out of the dorm, and stopped in the park when he saw familiar faces. "Hey," he said. "This place is gonna smell for days now. Freaking fish."

"Yeah, I think I'll be skipping out on walks in the park for a while after this," he said, wrinkling up his nose. Luke eyed the bat. "How's the bat treating you?"

"Pretty good. Kind of messy, especially the second time around, but I don't have a sword to throw around like some people," Jason said, smirking at Luke. "Are you doing okay?"

"Me? I'm having a great time," Luke said. "It'd be even better if I didn't think I'm going to smell weird for the next few days."

"I think the showers are gonna be busy for a while," Jason said. "You should get to the hot water while there still is some."

"Not having fun?" Percy kind of was which just made his mood a little better when dealing with the face stealer. He didn't even get snappy.

"Oh, I'm having plenty of fun," Jason said, which was why he almost smiled at Percy. "The memories are just gonna linger for a while. Welcome to your first invasion, they're not always this gross."

"Fish don't really bother me all that much."

Son of a sea god and all but he knew the smell was bad for other people.

"Managed to get a lot of them?"

Nico was impressed by the bat. "Sweet way to attack," he remarked. "But wow, that's some odor to release on the world."

"It's kinda messy, but effective," Jason said. "Maybe we'll get some rain and everything will wash away." Or, they could get chocolate rain and the smell would be worse, but he wasn't tempting fate by saying that out loud.

Good thing Nico didn't know about the chocolate rain or he'd start begging for it. "And if it doesn't we could pretend to suck up to Percy and see if he'd dump the lake on our heads."
