The store seemed to have acquired a new (hideous) sign at some point, and Spock suspected a new name, though he could not make heads nor tails of much of the text on the sign and, in fact, was not entirely certain it was in a Human language. Still, he saw no reason to not go in and get to work, so he did so in his usual efficient, no-nonsense manner.

Spock might be able to connect the odd bouncy girl to the sign outside, if only because her manner of dress was just as incomprehensible. And used many of the same bright, clashing colors.

"Hiya!" she said, bouncing up to the register. "You must be Spock! Hi, Spock! I'm Rikku!"

That would require leaps of intuition that just weren't Spock's style, so he said simply, "Hello, Rikku. May I assist you?" and waited to find out where this was going.

"You can shake my hand," she said proudly, holding it out. "I'm totally the new owner, here. Did you hear about that? I bought the place. Isn't that awesome?"

Spock did not take her up on the handshake. "I must apologize," he said. "My people do not 'shake hands.' While I was previously unaware, I do congratulate you on your acquisition of the business."

"Oh," she said, quickly taking back her hand. "Was that rude? I'm sorry. And thank you! Don't worry, everyone's still hired that was hired already. Not much will change."

Except, say, the addition of an ugly sign.

"Not at all," Spock assured her, unfazed. "You did not know. I am...glad," such a Human word, but it seemed like one she would appreciate, "to hear that my employment will continue.

"Absolutely," she promised. "Not much should change, I think. Oh! But the weapons and armor. I do upgrades for those? But if you don't want to, you don't have to. I know some people don't like weapons, anyway."

"I cannot say that I have any particular opinions on the matter," Spock said. "I will do what is required of me, of course."

"Of course," she agreed. "Then I'm pleased to have you and I'm sure you'll do a super job of it."

She fired off a salute.

"It's not gonna bug you if I hang around in the workshop, is it?"

Spock had gotten kind of accustomed to the workshop being his Momoko-free space, and Rikku seemed rather Momoko-esque, but he said, "No, of course not," because he wasn't about to admit that, and he suspected it was expected of him, besides.

Wouldn't Spock be devastated to know that Rikku was Momoko's big sister, and might invite her around to hang out?

Sorry, Spock!

"I'll try not to get in your way," she said, flashing a bright smile. "Are you working on anything special today?"
