The Arms Hotel Lobby, Saturday [10/2]

Mary was feeling pretty tired today. Apparently Sam did not sleep, and while it was fun to stay up all night talking, Mary needed her sleep. She also really needed her coffee, but she couldn't figure out what happened to the coffee maker that used to be at the front desk.

She was just about to head into the kitchen to ask Gunther if he had seen the coffee maker when she heard a crash. Moments later, Sebastian came scuttling out of the kitchen and headed back towards his room, with Gunther right behind him, rolling pin in hand.

"No!" screamed Mary. "No trying to cook guests, Gunther! In fact, just to be safe, no cooking meat or seafood for the rest of the weekend. We're going vegetarian."

As Gunther protested, Mary heard a familiar giggle from behind her. "Nice to see some things don't change. Hey Gunther, it's good to see you again!" said Sam, looking very amused as she hugged Gunther, then led him back to the kitchen. "You know, I've really been craving that awesome salad you used to make. Think you can help me out?"

With the crisis over, Mary headed back to the front desk, still lacking coffee but feeling luck that she had a friend who could actually sweet-talk Gunther into behaving.

By the time Medusa arrived at the hotel, her initial panic had calmed down and been replaced by the bone-deep certainty that Crystalia was doing something appalling even as they spoke. So it was a very worried-looking princess of Attilan who approached the front desk and asked Mary, "Excuse me, but I don't suppose you'd be able to tell me if my sister is staying here?"

"Her name is Crystal," Medusalith said. "Crystalia Amaquelin."

So she wasn't staying in someone's apartment and/or dorm room. That was a start. "Can you tell me which room?" she asked. "I just want to check on her." And yell at her.

"She doesn't know how to use a phone," Medusalith said unhappily. She was new enough to phones, also, to miss the message she was being given. "Thank you anyway, I suppose." Maybe she could chase down Maximus again--although she really didn't want to--and see if he knew which room she'd been given.

"Doubtful," Medusalith said. "Although with how small this island is, she can't hide forever." It was like Attilan, that way. "Thank you," she said again, and walked off, taking the note with her crumpled in her hand.

Price arrived at midday, a handsome and rugged looking fellow with a mohawk following him. They both wore uniforms of the SAS, even if both weren't technically members any more.

Price walked up to Mary, letting Soap stay back for the moment.

"How are you today, Mary?" he asked, his tone a little grim.

Price chuckled. "Soap kept me up all night with his snoring, as well," he said.

Soap, for his part, coughed a little, embarrassed.

"I'm glad to hear you're not unwell. But I do have some unfortunate news to share. Well, partially unfortunate I suppose."

Price tilted his head, a bemused expression on his face. "Can't say that's the case," he said, but then the expression turned serious. "I'll be leaving the island tomorrow. And I don't think I'll be back any time soon."

Price took one look back at Soap, then decided Mary deserved the truth. "I'm about to go on a mission to hunt down a terrorist while simultaneous trying to avoid the British and American forces that have labeled me a war criminal, so that said terrorist can actually clear my name."

"Possibly," Price said, but he doubted it. "And I can wait, absolutely. I probably should be introducing Soap to you, as well. But I'll happily meet Sam."

Price gave Samantha a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you," he said. "Sam, Mary, may I introduce Captain John MacTavish."

Soap walked up and gave a little wave.

"Well, there we are, all introduced," Price said.

"Can't say I have," Price said. "Mostly do missions in less populated areas, and then it's back to Britain. I remind you of someone, then?"

"Must look like someone she doesn't like," Price said. "It's okay."

"She looked like she'd seen a ghost," Soap remarked.

"And if I don't come back," Price said. "It was a pleasure to know you, Mary."

"I will haf you know!" Sebastian shouted angrily once he'd managed to escape from the mad chef and shook his claw in fury. "I will expect a hefty deduction from my bill for dis!"

"Well, den!" Sebastian straightened his shell importantly. "I should expect no---"

But his words were cut off with a sharp, surprisingly high pitched shriek as he caught a glimmer of light that looked like it might be a cleaver and he scampered off before that madman could even have another stab at him.
