The Boards, Wednesday

Genesis had spent the last few days brooding, as he tended to do when left alone, and sulking about missing Angeal. (Not that he'd admit it out-loud, but he would wager half his paycheck that Angeal knew exactly what he was doing.)

Today, however, he had something else to do.

And that something else? Rehearsal.

Drinks were set out--coffee, tea, various juices and, of course, bottled water. Food was set out--muffins, crackers and various things to put on said crackers, croissants, fruit and vegetables.

And Genesis was pacing on the stage. He'd get off as soon as people needed it.

[Wait for the OCD is up, up and away!]

... Ooooh. I really liked that one one with the trio, there.

Yes, I have to comment on that with this account. Sssh.

Warren wasn't in either of the scenes that they were going over today, but that wasn't going to stop him from sitting back with his script in hand, wings splayed out at slightly awkward angles as he went over his lines. He was going to be stretching out a lot, this week, to make up for a weekend spent hiding them.

"You? Crazy? Just because you want to kill someone for looking good...?"

He was actually sort of starting to get into this role.

Christian wasn't pacing as he waited for his turn to take the stage; he was practicing waking very gracefully.

It was just easy to mistake for pacing.

"More incredulous," Warren repeated, thoughtfully. And then he nodded, took a breath, and tried again. He really wasn't Hollywood material, but at least there was some effort going on, there. And a bit more emphasis in all the right places.

"You? Crazy?" He shook his head, raised a hand and ran it through his hair. "Just because you want to kill someone for looking good? Just because you spend every. waking. moment worrying about your looks? Just because you work all day exercising and using every crazy beauty aide that comes along instead of... looking out for the welfare of the kingdom?" He exhaled, a sort of almost rueful, silent laugh. "No, I wouldn't call that crazy. I call that INSANE!"

... This script was unholy amounts of fun.

"I can do that," Warren decided, nodding as he looked back down at the script. "It is a pretty crazy request, I mean."

To say the least.

Temper it with love. At least that would be made decidedly simpler considering who had been cast as The Queen, Warren noted.

"I think I've got a bit of method acting going on in that regard," he noted. "That should be the easy part."

Because he was a big squishy lovebird. Shut up.

"More than aware," Christian nodded. "He's almost bragging about it. He calls himself I.M. Charming."

He straightened his back and took a larger step, trying to remain graceful. "Like this?"

Not being a part of the scenes scheduled for rehearsal today, Sara was content to partake of a croissant and an apple (though, she thought wistfully, the fruit couldn't hold a candle to that borne by the family birthday trees back in the King orchard) and nibble at the aforementioned food while going over her script.

She'd have to go to the library or ask someone about a few of the more unusual turns of phrase, but by and large she was enjoying herself immensely with her lines.

"Let's divide this all evenly," she read from the script in a gleefully imperious tone, looking far more smug than she ever did in her everyday doings. "One for you and one for me. And one for you and one for me . . ."
