Things Reborn; Thursday 7

Unicorn-less and Giles-less, Faith was pretty calm at the store, still eyeing the old clock and trying to figure just what part went where. She had been close to put it all together, but apparently something had fallen of somewhere, and now the damn thing was as dead as it had been when she had started to look at it fist.

Faith wasn't thrilled about crouching all over the store, but such was life.

Wes had been preeeetty sure Thursdays were Faith's day at the store. Not that he had been paying attention or anything, just that he was an observant kid and he picked up on stuff.

When he walked into the store and didn't see anyone at first, he was even more sure it was her day. Then when he noticed someone on all fours on the floor, he was positive.

"Was - was Giles visiting you this weekend?" he asked.

Such an attentive boy like Wes would surely know these things, of course.

"Oh, I dunno", said as she straightened, the dammed piece still lost somewhere. "Was he visintin' you?" There, if finding a stupid little piece of metal was stressing, poking at Wesley made it all better.

Okay, grin a little.

"Well, I'm sure with all the timelines being fucked up there isn't really much to do about it." Wes' future was a lot of things but shiny, too, but she could see Giles' attitude, since the guy had been discredited and everything.

"Anythin' I can do for you?" It still was her store, and she was still going to run it.

"Well, help yourself then", replied as she moved back to the counter, decided to resume her search and get the missing piece that day. "If you happen to find some small metal piece, let me know." Not that she expected him to look after it, but whatever.
