Yeah, yeah, John had boobs. He was mostly over it, if cranky because his t-shirt was too tight in the chest and Tino kept talking to his boobs as a result.

This led to a lot of snapping and, "Eyes up top, buddy!" John was just thanking Fandom these things only ever lasted one day.

The first thing Kūkaku did when she got into the bar, even before ordering her cheap-or-free booze, was light up her pipe and draw in a deep drag. She missed being able to smoke and not standing out in the cold air that she was never really dressed for.

"Give me something cheap as piss and, hey, can we throw some peanut shells on the ground, too? I'm in desperate need of a hoity-toity detox."

"You can spit on the floor for all I care," John told her, sliding a draft of cheap ass beer her way. "Resort life too much for you?"

So, of course, Kūkaku cleared her throat, collecting as much phlegm as possible before hacking it out on the floor.

"If I wanted to walk around with a stick stuck up my ass," she reasoned, clinging to the wonderful cheap ass beer, "I'd shove it up there myself. Since I haven't done that yet, what do you think that tells ya?"

She sounded like him after hanging out with the family for a weekend. "That you and I were meant to be," he replied, refilling his own glass of terribly cheap beer (that he happened to love desperately).

"Don't flatter yourself, sweetheart," said Kūkaku with a swig of her beer. "Yer cute and all, but cute ain't my type."

And wasn't that terribly disappointing. "Ah, another one into big and burly? Yeah, always the bridesmaid, never a one-night-stand." There was a saying like that, or something.

"But look on the bright side," Kūkaku offered. "Fewer chances of STDs."

"Oh, I already fucked Chuck Bass, it's too late." For some reason John always laughed when he said that like it was some hysterical joke.

"Congratulations," Kūkaku said. "That Chuck Bass fella sounds like a real winner; I bet you're pretty freakin' proud of yourself."

"Oh god no, I was drunk as hell." Still hilarious though. Something about the hate. "Better than waking up with Tino though."

Kūkaku sent a slight, considering glance toward Tino, and had a look on her face that showed that the idea of hooking up with anyone in this joint was disquieting enough as it was.

"You can compare by experience?"

"Never been that drunk, no." He prayed he never would be.

Cally had arranged for a sitter and came into Caritas.

She needed to a drink after having had to deal with her child suddenly being a girl. That was not something a parent was used to.

She, for her part, was totally okay with being a guy for the day. That was just a Fandom thing.

"I'll take a Cosmo," she said, sitting down at the bar.

"Well, then, drink up, girlie!" Kūkaku called, grinning evilly and lifting her glass. "Tonight might just be your lucky night!"

John raised an eyebrow at the fancy drink and dandy guy. "Lemme guess, Hooking Up In New York marathon?" He worked to shake one up anyhow.

"Hey, it's a good show," Cally said. "And... yes, you're right. But it beats liquor made from a jury-rigged still any day."

"Hey, I'm not judging the show here," John promised. He was judging the drink. "You make your own brew?"

"Oh no," Cally said. "The one time I tried to build one of those with two of my fellow specialists? We almost poisoned ourselves. We needed the help of..." she trailed off a moment. "Well, the help of my ex to get it right."

They were totally divorced. Just instead of signing papers she'd hit him in the head with a wrench.

"To exes!" John slammed back his beer. "It's better to drink than really think about them."

"And hope you hit em hard enough that their stupid robot diodes crashed," Cally said, before taking a drink of her Cosmo. "I'll drink to that."
