The Boards, Wednesday

"I trust you all had a sufficient break," Genesis said, his tone somewhere between amused and vaguely threatening. He was skilled at that. "Let us carry on with our production."

Back to work, back to work.

And as far as he was concerned, his actors having one break was bad enough. Did they think they had infinite amounts of time to produce the play? Had they thought at all?

One day, perhaps, he’d get used to working with high school students instead of watching and lurking amongst the professionals. That day was not today.

The usual food was set out as, at the least, he was certain that some of them would come solely for that.

[wait for the OCD is up and ready!]

While Elphaba wasn't in these scenes, she sat backstage and went over her script while eating an apple.

It was a delicious apple. Golden delicious, even.

Christian wasn't in the scenes for this week, so he idly took a snack and sat off to the side. If he was keeping an eye out for Rinoa -- well, could you blame him?

Karla was glad to be back in the theater, at least, even if she was sad about the end of vacation. She wasn't sure whether to be nervous or excited about doing her first scene with Warren, but the butterflies in her stomach were suggesting she was at least one of those things.

She was just going to hunch behind her script and eat some snacks. That would help, yes?

"You okay?" Triela asked, eyebrow raised. "You look..." she waved vaguely to indicate... who knew what.

Not being in today's scenes wasn't much of a problem for Sara today; it meant she had time to go over her script, though her attention, it must be admitted, was split between that and looking through her notebook of some of the new stories she'd learned over the break.

It was such a temptation to commit some of those to heart rather than her lines . . .

"Hey," Triela said quietly, offering a small wave. "I don't think we've actually been introduced." And if she didn't have any lines, she might as well make some sort of decent use of her time here today.

Glaring at the director got old after a while, not to mention the fact that it didn't ever seem to accomplish anything.

Alexander didn't come solely for the food, no, but it was certainly an added benefit.

Jack was in his normal corner napping.

Er, embracing his character's natural daftness. Yes! That second thing. Definitely.

Ahh, another day to relax a little, look over her lines again, and enjoy seeing how her friends were doing on their scenes. It definitely made Ariel excited, though, to get to the days when she'd going over hers.

Rinoa was here for the food. And her friends. And for Christian.

Oh, right, and for rehearsing the play. That too.

To the untrained eye, it looked like Claudia was wandering back and forth carrying around heavy, expensive lighting equipment for no discernable reason.

To the trained eye . . . it probably looked much the same. But they would at least notice that each time she walked by it was with a different heavy, expensive piece of lighting equipment.

Now she knew why lighting designers liked to work with "master electricians". Then they could make someone else do the grunt work.

Squall set to work constructing flats. The fact that that involved hitting things very hard with a hammer was nice and cathartic.

Being tired means we should totally be allowed to sleep more. ALAS that it is not so.

I stayed up past midnight to keep my husband company while he watched the Yankees lose. I should not have tried that, as my tired is epic.

Tired is totally a running theme, I think. I will get enough brain to ping in to the rehearsal, but odds are high that it won't happen until I get home from class this evening. I've just been sitting and staring at things all morning. Staaaring.

... But I finally finished my letter to the student loan peeps, so that's a plus.

Me tooooooooooo. My grand plan to go to bed at 9:30 and get a decent amount of sleep was epically foiled by my cat deciding to be INSANE all night and knock things over loudly every hour or so. Augh.
