After the brunch, John decided he was in need of his weekly visit to the bar. He'd made no promises about staying sober tonight and besides, there really was no place safer than within Caritas' charmed walls.

Also, there was beer there. Glorious, glorious beer.

"Don't look at me like that," John chastised when he caught Tino watching him revel in his shitty beer. "This is the best beer in the world."

Jaina figured staying in tonight would be stupid, but walking around town a couple times just in case she sensed trouble hadn't done any good. So she figured stopping in at what had been her home away from home away from home for a bit might get her to untense at least a little.

Till she saw who was in there and remembered it was Sunday. She had to suck up her embarrassment over last night's worry sometime, right?

"I should have known I'd see you here," she said, taking a seat.

John slid a rum and coke her way. "Did you forget it was evening?"

Mat owed Arthur several dozen rounds of beer at this point, and since their portals didn't leave for a bit, Caritas seemed like a good place to settle that debt.

"Thanks for helping me out," Mat said finally.

"Sheppard, what are you doing behind my bar?" Chuck asked. Yeah, like he wasn't gonna visit to see how things were going.

"Thought I'd get myself a drink," John told him, inwardly pleased to see the guy. "You want one?"

"I'll get my own drink, thank you." Like John would know what kind of scotch to pick. "I hope to god nobody's paying you."

Chuck stopped mid-way on his walk to get behind the bar and glared. "If I weren't a billionaire I'd have you arrested for being a dick."

"You been picked up on that charge before?" John wondered. It sounded very Bass-y.

She looked at him curiously. "Why is getting me to drink such a big thing for you?" she wondered. Maybe it'd give her some insight as to what the draw was for him.

"No," Chuck said, making it behind the bar to grab a bottle of scotch. "I've been arrested for exposing my dick before, but that's different."
