The Boards, Wednesday
Genesis cast his gaze over his minions actors and actresses. His eyes narrowed at the expected—he listened to radio, after all—but not approved of absence of one of them.
How were they supposed to do Scene Five without one half of it?
Hmmm.
Well, it was only two of the children who were involved. Perhaps he’d call them in for extra practice later.
"We’re moving on to scenes six through eight today," he informed them. Idly wondering how many would realize he'd just skipped a scene without bothering to justify that. "Which means several of you who’ve had no lines prior to this are up today. Rinoa, Ariel, Sara, Jack—you don’t get to sleep today—and Triela. Up on stage."
[Plz to be waiting for the OCD has arrived! Carry on!]

Re: Off-Stage
He'd already memorized his lines. But flipping through gave him something to do with his hands.
Re: Off-Stage
"Problems?"
And he left his tone deliberately ambiguous.
Re: Off-Stage
Stupid ambiguous text messages, making him worry.
The word 'trouble' was never a good sign, damn it.
Re: Off-Stage
That was curious and Genesis had always been fond of indulging that which interested him.
Re: Off-Stage
"Karla left me a text message," he explained. "There's some kind of emergency back home, and she had to run off on Sunday night. I haven't heard anything from her since."
And so? Worry.
Re: Off-Stage
That level of snark is beneath you. Really. He did, however, contemplate it.
"If she is dealing with a true emergency," he said instead, "then she will hardly have time to text at will."
Re: Off-Stage
No, he had no idea what in the world he could do in the face of a world of people with magic and God only knew what else.
Re: Off-Stage
A dress emergency. Snerk.
"You'd only cause her more worry. If you wish a response--text her and wait until she answers."
Re: Off-Stage
"And if she doesn't answer?"
Re: Off-Stage
Re: Off-Stage
"I guess, yeah."
He didn't seem entirely convinced. He was prone to worrying. It was practically part of his genetic makeup.
Re: Off-Stage
"You lack conviction."
And he disapproved.
Re: Off-Stage
Well, there had been that one time. For about two seconds. Before flinging himself through a window.
But otherwise?
Re: Off-Stage
Well done. Lovely. Could he possibly be more useless?
Re: Off-Stage
"... Do you mind if I send her a text?"
Re: Off-Stage
Re: Off-Stage
"And now... I guess I wait," he sighed.
He hated the waiting game. He hated it way too much.
Re: Off-Stage
What was sad that he'd had to be prodded into it. Pathetic.
Re: Off-Stage
He was pretty resigned to being pathetic at the moment, Genesis. A good thump to the side of the head might help.
Re: Off-Stage
Firm, not painful.
"Better than nothing," he repeated. "Now put it out of your mind for at least rehearsal."
Or Genesis would haul him up on stage and make him act until he couldn't think. So kind, Genesis. So kind.
