Trick or Treating, All Across Town, Sunday

The wind rattled the leaves of the many trees around the island. It was a classic Fall day, and it showed in every scrap of land and yellowed-out leaf. Strange things - or rather, strange people - might have been spotted around the island today... but it was still Halloween.

And that meant that some, at least, would still open their doors for visitors looking for a few bites of something sweet. Provided those visitors even knew what they were looking for...

What was that, heralded by a loud call of WARK and approaching the Covent Garden in a rush, kicking up a cloud of dust behind it? It was a bird, it was a plane, no--

It really was a bird, with a moogle on its back! And it pecked at the door of the shop a few times before depositing a chocolate bar in the doorway. And then, the chocobo and his moogle companion disappeared as suddenly and as dramatically as they had arrived!

Christian got to the shop just after sunset, no longer quite certain what he was doing. Still, he saw a stream of people knocking at the door, so...

She was a bit too bouncy and smiley for a real super spy, but this is Momoko.

Henry had M&Ms to give trick or treaters, and he found a rebroadcast of Clash of the Planets. It had all the signs of being a good, slightly spooky, night.

Whoosh! What fearsome creature stalked the night, hunting its prey and -- wait, no, wrong creature. This one wasn't stalking anybody, and it certainly wasn't fearsome!

It was really two creatures in one -- a moogle riding on the back of a giant chocobo. They swooped in towards MCA #1, stopping abruptly so that the chocho could peck at the door, and the moogle could fling a candy bar towards it. And then up, up, and away! ... Well, not up. Chocobos didn't fly all that well. But as a literary device, it worked.

Tim could have just handed out candy at his apartment, but decided instead to do it from the comic store, where he could hand out both candy, and free comics.

The stored was decorated for the holiday of course, though Tim wasn't wearing a costume.

Trooper Station

While he was vaguely aware this was a holiday, Vimes was going to leave the actual trick or treating aspect of this to Ralph and Angua.

Because his costume was that of a watchman. And therefor just a bit boring.

A holiday about dressing up and giving people sweets! Shunsui couldn't say no to such a thing even if he tried. Since he was usually a reaper of souls, he went a decidedly fun route, dressing up as a pirate (http://jacyll.deviantart.com/art/Shunsui-and-Nanao-goes-Pirate-139831852) and switching his sake out for rum for the occasion.

There was plenty of candy for the kids at the store, too. And plenty of alcohol for the adults. Something for everyone!

Cally had debated dressing Nicky up in a costume and taking him around trick or treating. But since the candy would be mainly for her, she decided that just staying home and distributing it and keeping the leftovers was a better idea. The cheapie fake vampire fangs, glitter, and fake blood she picked up from Holiday Grove could fumble their way into being a costume for her when answering the door.

Of course, this did mean she found herself a little... different after sunset. Though mostly it just left her wanting to mope, not actually bite anyone.

Rikku was excited!! She had no idea how the store had had a moogle costume, but she wasn't going to question it. Instead, she was going to bounce excitedly and peel the head off her costume.

"Stop fussing at yours," she told Reno.

"Can't stop fussin'," Reno grumped, tugging at the front of his chocobo costume with a scowl on his face. "This is the most friggin' stupid thing I ever put on, yo."

"You look adorable," she said, leaning up for a kiss. "And I'll put the head back on when people show up." In the meantime, it was hot with that head on, okay?

Apartment Above Wellspring Arms

There was a side door in the Wellspring Arms building that led up to the apartment; that side door had a sticker on it reading Candy Here.

Nate had not managed to weasel out of Halloween. He was, however, choosing to be as non-participative as he could be.

Loki wasn't dressed up (he was too fucking old for that) but to try and look like he was participating, he had his wings unfurled and stretched out. He was going as a fucking angel which was probably cheating.
