Dite's Decadent Delights, Friday
Anyone outside the store today would have seen the goddess of love walk down the street with a determined stride and disappear inside, which was a fairly normal sight. What they might have been surprised by was the reappearance of Aphrodite, carrying a small folding table, which she set up on the sidewalk outside the front door. Heading back inside, she soon came out the door once more, this time carrying a large bowl, which she then placed on said table. A floating sign soon appeared over the bowl:
For those who did enter, they would find a glowering goddess hunched over her laptop while eating strawberries. What she was reading would quickly become apparent.
"Oh, please, have you never heard of a dictionary? That word doesn't make sense!"
"Can you please just say blue for the damn color of her eyes??"
"Have you never had sex, you moron? That's anatomically impossible!" Then one eyebrow rose. "Unless I'm involved, of course."
The world of fanfic might never be the same.

Read: terrified.
"What...are you reading?", asked as entered cautiously. He knew he was going to regret it, but as long as it kept his mind busy, he would be grateful.

She looked him up and down carefully. "You okay? Would you like something cold? I have lemonade -- with heavy lemon. I find it helps." Notice she didn't say what exactly it helped.
no subject
"Me? I'm fine...I guess. Cold lemonade would be wonderful though." The colder the better.

'Dite glanced back at her laptop. "It's romance and sex. I was just in the mood, you know?" Her voice dropped to almost a whisper. "Stupid Island."
no subject
Bad Cloud, bad.
no subject
Just most of the time.
As for being affected by the island? 'Dite cocked her head and thought about it. "You know, I'm not sure if I'm actually being affected by what the Island is doing, or just by the people affected by the Island. Cause -- that's a lot of energy out there right now, all tuned to a . . . lower frequency, if you get my meaning." She winked.

"That's...another way of seeing it, yes." Although the wink? Not helping. More lemonade for him. "But at least you aren't hyper and anxious. Good for you." He wanted to believe he was going to wake tomorrow and laugh at how he felt. Or take a portal to Gaia and visit Tifa...
More. Lemonade.

No, that was not the offer he might originally think it was.
"Maybe it would help if I bitched at you about the bad grammar of these so-called writers."
(No problem, I've done the same thing once or twice or a hundred times!)
no subject
"If you think it might help, please do bitch away."

"What do you want to know...?" Oh, as if he needed to ask.
no subject
Yes, that was so much better.

He chocked on his lemonade anyway. Twice.
"I'm hanging alright, thanks", replied once he could breathe. "Not too much action, if that's what you ask, but I'm fairly sure I'm at least less of a social recluse. That is something."
no subject
"Wow. Innuendo much, 'Dite?" She rolled her eyes and chuckled. "I'm sorry, Cloud. But it's good to know you're okay. Sounds like you're being more social." 'Dite grinned. "I wasn't even going to ask about the action, though."
no subject
"Something is something", said with a small smile that wasn't forced at all, for once. "Weren't you? Is all that people talk about this week. I think that's the very same reason I'm against it."

She was beautiful, after all. Max noticed that sort of thing.
no subject
"Max! Hey, sweetheart, what are you doing here?"
Yes, it was obvious; no, she wasn't going to make it easy for him.
no subject
"Imagine finding you here."

And she led Max through the back room where the toys were kept, toward the storage area and the restrooms.
If there was an added swing to her hips, could you really blame her?
no subject
And if Max paused for a moment to appreciate that little swing, could you blame him?

Stopping beside a simple door with a simple Men's Room sign, she leaned against the wall next to it. "There you go."

'Dite was enjoying the flirting, but there was a tiny tension inside that had nothing to do with the excitement of Max standing so close. It felt almost like nervousness, which didn't make any sense; after all, she and Max had been together quite a few times, though not since her bout of anger. As she realized that her eyes narrowed.
