Fighting Reserves: Movie Sign Theatre, Tuesday After Classes

After handwavily letting people know to meet at the movie theater, the intrepid leaders of the Fighting Reserve waited with candy and popcorn. And a lot of thanks that whatever happened all of last week was now over with. Because another mud fight would break the fabric of reality.

Or something like that.

"If you hadn't noticed, this isn't the usual place we meet," Maladicta said. "We thought that, after all the excitement last week, a bit of relaxation was in order."

"Because action flicks are totally relaxing," Kennedy put in, although given the droid baby in a stroller beside her, she didn't look like she was in for any relaxation. "Hey, it's topical. Also possibly educational."

"Of course it's educational," Zack intoned, with the sort of knowing look about him of a person who routinely did crazy things like jump out of helicopters from fifty feet up onto moving trains while under gunfire. "Stuff like this happens all the time. So, be sure to pay close attention! There are some cars and things in this movie, and I know we don't see stuff like that here on the island so much, but the rest of it is totally realistic!"

Like the weird homoerotic undertones between Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. 3 Fast, 3 Furious: Korean Slide was practically a documentary movie, really!

"Riiiiiiiight," Kennedy said with that tight, I'm totally indulging you right now kind of half smile. "Anyway, have fun. Don't overdo it on the candy or whatever."

Maladicta cleared her throat. "Exactly. For some reason I'm to inform you all to please not spoil the movie by adding your own soundtrack."

She was just going to eye that droid baby now. Eye it but good.

The usual coffee and snacks, of course, plus movie candy. And pretzels. And things.

You'd have to excuse Cally -- if you could find her behind the giant bag of hot buttered popcorn.

She'd never smelled anything so delicious in her life.

Scully was still toting that big carrier, but she was looking more resigned than like she was hoping for a church or fire station or possibly clinic to abandon Frohike and Langley in at this point.

Also, there was popcorn, and throwing it at her small robots. Then making sure they couldn't put it in their mouths.

Now Scully was throwing popcorn at the screen. Vin Diesel was attractive but reminded her way too much of some shapeshifters she'd met.

And are hopefully setting a good example by turning their cell phones off.

Um, no, Kennedy hadn't turned her phone off, exactly; she'd put it on silent mode, but she'd discovered that while the droid baby frankly sucked at the game, he could be amused by Doodle Jump for pretty good stretches of time.

"No, no, see, tilt it that way, no, not-- that-- oops. Nice try."

...yes, she was attempting to coach a robot infant through a video game. What? It worked.

Zack was an on-call SOLDIER, and so he kind of didn't have the luxury of being able to turn off his phone for the movies. Hopefully people would understand!

... Especially when his phone made a little toodle-oodle sound, signalling that he'd gotten new mail. Uh. Oops!

Maladicta didn't even have a phone. Or a small child to watch, so she was perfectly fine.

Maybe she should start yelling at the characters or something...
