The Boards, Wednesday
It was a very absent-minded Genesis that, around midday, wandered out and stuck a sign on the door to the theatre.
Rehearsal Cancelled
due to
Thanksgiving.
Enjoy your temporary reprieve and be here next week knowing your lines or I will be most displeased.
Then he wandered back inside, never having looked up from his book.
Your director, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who does things his way and no one else’s.
[There was going to be a rehearsal, but then work and computer issues happened and I was all ‘I’ll post it when I get home’ only because of our heavy heavy snowfall I got home an hour and a half later than usual and I’m sulky. So, have a free day. Anyone who wants can come in and bug Genesis though, sure. OCDless.]

Well, Karla had come to rehearse and rehearse she would
just on epic holiday-prep SP!no subject
"Why is it," Genesis asked, voice mild and aloof as he turned a page in his book. "That you are more likely to show up when there's no rehearsal than when there is?"
Did she live to drive him mad?

Of all things.
"No villain for this week, then?"

"I couldn't think of a better word?" Karla admitted. "But it fits to describe werewolves that kidnap friends of mine at the behest of their vampire king?"
Her life was a soap opera. Really and truly a soap opera.
"But no one is in danger this week," she promised. "At least, not right now. I have no idea how long that will stay true for, though." Hmm. That was perhaps not the right note of optimism. "I've memorized my lines!"

"Only here," he murmured. "And have you?"

...But hadn't she been cute?
"Of course!" Karla said. "I apologize it took me so long." The two-week break between Agio and being a kitten had really played havoc on her memorization schedule. And since he'd said he liked her already, Karla found the courage to offer him the apology that had been so long in coming.
"Please understand, sir. I realize how this looks. How I look. I've missed rehearsals, I practically had the vapors on the first read-through, I tried to gnaw on your shoes several times when I thought you weren't paying attention. But I care about the play and I love acting and more than anything, I'm sorry that your first impression of me has been like this. But I'm willing to work and work hard to make up for what I've missed."

The book was shut with a snap that seemed to echo in the mostly empty theatre. "Your timing," he said dryly, "needs some work. But noted."
