The Docks, Thursday

Down on the docks today, people might find a rather large fellow. A large fellow who was raising rocks from the ocean with his bellows, and occasionally throwing them at goblins that came too close to him.

"Ludo SMASH!"

One of the Junk People had been reading old comics to Ludo, oh yes. But he was a very friendly sort...if you weren't scared off by the horns. Or the fur. Or the sheer size.

[OOC: OCD free and oooooooooooopen! Please poke us here for Ludo-fun!]

Ariel certainly wasn't frightened off by things like horns or fur and size. Or not even the screaming, really, though that had caught her attention while she was Totally Not Exploring, Really, and so her redhead was peeking around something to peer at the docks and the big fellow who was there.

"Boy," she said, after deciding that, hey, she had a crowbar if there was any trouble, "what's all the yelling about?"

[identity profile] shes-got-legs.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
The yell got a disapproving frown. "That's not a very helpful answer," she informed the creature. "Do you know how to talk? Are you hurt? Lost? It's pretty easy to get lost in this place lately, but I've got a map I've been trying to work on, here, let me get it out of my bag..."

And it proved that he was either really good at mimicry, or he understood what Ariel had said, which was a bonus. She smiled almost immediately, looking up from the satchel she was shifting through to find her map.

"That's right," she said. "A map. It isn't very good, though; I think things keep changing, but I'm making an effort, anyway. Hold on a second. I just have to...find it...."

There was a lot of stuff in her bag, okay? And it didn't help that she kept adding things along the way.

"Ah-ha!" she cried, and then held aloft a rolled up parchment. "Here it is! Would you like to see?"

"Oh, sure!" Ariel said, unrolling it and handing it over with a smile. "Maybe you can help me with some of the questionable parts."

[identity profile] shes-got-legs.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ariel might have objected to having her painstakingly professional (crayon!) map being put in someone's mouth, but that was so darn cute she could only giggle and put her hands back on the part hanging down to reclaim it.

"No, silly; maps are for reading, not for eating! I have a bacon sandwich in my bag, though, and some Cheetos, if you're hungry. Would you like some Cheetos?"

"Awwww!" Ludo had such a great sad poutyface! Ariel definitely was not going to refused, rolling up the map again and then wiping a hand on her skirt from where there was still Ludo drool on it. "Is that your name? Ludo?"

She started going through her bag again, looking for the snacks. "My name's Ariel. And, here you go, have some Cheetos," she held out the little snack pack bag. "They're delicious!"

"That's right, Ludo!" Ariel said happily. "Friend! And, oh, no, here!" She reached for the bag again to help him. "You have to open it; the good stuff is inside. Like a present!"

[identity profile] shes-got-legs.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Which was not helping with Ariel's giggles, not at all.

"So?" she asked once he'd had a chance in inhale some of it. "What do you think?"

[identity profile] shes-got-legs.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
See, that's why she came prepared and had several more little bags in her satchel!

Ariel beamed at Ludo's approval. "See? I told you they were tasty. They're my favorite. Did you get enough or would you like some more? I have another bag I can spare."

[identity profile] shes-got-legs.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"You're pretty hungry!" Ariel noted with a giggle as she fished out another bag for Ludo. "Although, I guess that makes sense, since you're so big. Takes more to fill you up."

[identity profile] shes-got-legs.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Very pretty!" Ariel agreed, with another laugh and she opened the bag for him before putting it in his hand. "It's a good color for you! Just like your hair; it's like mine, only you've got a lot more."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Robin had been staying out of trouble all week. But darnit he was just too adventurous to stay in any longer. So he'd gone exploring.

And after a momentary bit of hiding from the yelling, he came to investigate.

"Uhm, hi?" He said, perched on a stile.

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Eep! Robin shrank back. But he screwed up his courage. "A-are you lost?"

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Ludo? Is, is that your name? I'm Robin."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes!" Robin said cheerfully, glad that his being nice had worked. "It's very nice to meet you Ludo."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
It turned out to be sort of a mix, as Robin was not that delicate, but he was kinda soft. But he'd survived being stomped on by a Brachiosaur so he was okay.

He giggled, and petted Ludo's arm too. "Are you new here Ludo?"

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
But he'd called him Ludo. Maybe there was a language barrier here. He'd try something else. "How did you get here?"

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well Robin meant the island itself, but that worked, yeah. How about...

"Where are you from?"
