The Gig, Sunday

With winter festivals and new student arrivals all over with, Firekeeper was glad to be back to her routine.

Even if said routine involved, yet again, the appearance of ridiculous numbers of bananas in the hayloft.

At least she wouldn't go hungry?

Scully had been feeling restless for a while; and she'd missed seeing Blysse and Blind Seer at the welcome picnic. Two birds, one stone.

"Hello?" she called as she got close to the Gig, peeking her head in the stables. "Anyone home?"

Scully grinned in amusement, and wandered further into the Gig. "I didn't see you at the welcome picnic. Or Blind Seer." She had a few slices of summer sausage in her pocket for him. "And I had a little time on my hands. How are the horses doing?"

"If they were Shetland ponies, I supposed they could be happy, but this weather does kind of limit them." Mischievously, Scully said, "Of course, they could go out for rides and warm up that way..."

The look from Blind Seer had her smirking, then reaching into her pocket and offering him one red circle of meat, then another to Firekeeper. "Since there isn't a snack bar out here."

"Like some people." Scully held out a couple more pieces to Blind Seer. "Do you talk to a lot of other animals, aside from the horses?" To Blind Seer she said, "I know you're intelligent enough to hold a conversation. I'm just not clear on the others."

"I hadn't thought of that," Scully said, leaning against one stable door, and studying the horse within. "Even if we get used to having different things happen here, their instincts are still stronger than ours." She shook her head. "It would be so useful if we could, though. The next time something weird happens here. Aside from the squirrels."
