Spinning was fun. Uh, not the bike kind, though John was certain that happened at some point on the trainers schedule. No, he was spinning at the front desk on a chair, testing out his balance and how his ears reacted.

Apparently this is what his life had come to.

Jaina was here because it was the gym and there was training to be done before class, and when she happened by the past desk, she had to stop when she saw that. "You know, I'd ask how you are but I'd be shocked if 'bored' wasn't the answer," she said.

"Well, you'd be shocked then," John said, not at all bored. Nauseous, perhaps.

Forgive her for looking doubtful. "That can't be that entertaining."

"It was better than just sitting," he admitted. "But there was a magazine before and now I know how to make some seriously amazing-looking red velvet brownies. Not that I'm planning on actually baking, but I could." If he had a pan.

And ingredients.

And the will to bake.

"You never should have told me that," she pointed out, interest piqued. "Because now I want to see that happen."

"Too bad you're fresh outta luck there," John said, looking sorry for her. "I don't bake."

"You did once, I think," she pointed out. Of course the ILY cake was not one she was mentioning by name and she had no idea how from scratch that had been. "It'd be fun to see!"

Andrew had made that while John assisted - meaning John leaned against counters and licked beaters while talking Andrew's ear off. Geeky friends were so awesome, and terribly missed.

"Lies. I don't bake, end of story."

She folded her arms, leaning against the desk. "And here I cooked for you and everything. Decently, too," she teased.

"Do I remember the decently part?" John didn't think so.

"Hey," she frowned. She was kind of proud of that meal. "I don't remember you needing the clinic."

He had no recollection. "I should never need the clinic after a meal," John replied. "Which is why I normally don't have you cook for me."

"I'd say I normally don't cook for you because I don't have much reason to cook for you," Jaina said. "And because I much prefer takeout. That time was a challenge from you, too."
