Atlas Gym | Saturday

In John's opinion, the temperature drop was just another incentive for people to stop in while he was working the lame Saturday shift at the gym. A little cardio, a little weight lifting, it was a recipe for successful sweating - especially considering how he'd cranked the thermostat and queued up some decent tunes.

Old school hair bands went great with a workout. Like bacon and eggs.

Jaina always tried to get in a workout before work, so it shouldn't have been a surprise to see her here. She was a little surprised at the music, though, and might have raised an eyebrow at the selection when she got to the desk.

Someone had clearly not been exposed to enough hair bands.

She always had time to talk to him. Especially after some of the stuff Shelley'd said the other day. She sort of found herself missing talking to him. "I didn't realize you were putting on a concert today or I would have brought friends," she said.

"Bored," she relied. "Sorry, I didn't mean to break up the show." Well, she did a little. It was hard to hold a conversation with someone while they were singing.

"I might if I had any idea what the words were," she shrugged. "Oh, and if the last time I sang in front of you led to me being teased about the Pussycat Dolls for years..."

Jaina made a face as she remembered that particular incident. And the bruising that followed. "And that reminds me that I'd repressed graduation. How have I not made you deaf?"

This was totally a valid question to her.

"Explains the music," she teased. "How are you doing? I don't see you around a lot lately." And sue her, she worried.

"It's been what, two weeks?" she said, thinking back. "And I'll have you know I am hilarious."

"And how would you have me back them up?" she asked, fully knowing no one would ever call her hilarious. "Since you don't seem to want to take my word for it."

"What do Jawas have that no other creature in the galaxy has?" she asked immediately.

That got a half-"wtf", half-amused look from her, but it didn't stop her from delivering the punchline. "Baby Jawas."

"Inventive, sure, but it's a really bad punchline. You didn't say it had to be a good joke." Nevermind that she'd never found these jokes funny anyway.

"It's funny in its badness," she insisted. "And I've got more, but something tells me you'd have the same reaction to those, too." Jacen would be so disappointed.
