Wellspring Arms & Meditation Centre, Wednesday

It probably looked like she wasn't doing anything as she sat in Cable-san's chair with her eyes closed.

That, however, was wrong.

Meditation was the goal for today and, after her class, it became a game to see how far in she could reach in herself. Which, admittedly, wasn't the same as finding out how far she could go on someone else.

But Ino doubted she'd get a volunteer to let her try that on the island.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

Max was a big guy, and most of the time he didn't bother walking softly, so his footsteps were pretty distinctive. It was entirely possible that Ino wouldn't have to open her eyes to identify who'd just walked in the door and was striding toward her.

"Ino," he returned. His face held a tight little smile.

"How have you been?" And wasn't that a loaded question. Intentionally so, in fact.

"Uh huh."

Max considered that.

"Do you remember me suggesting that you talk to someone?" he asked after a couple of seconds.

"Have you?" Funny, that didn't actually sound like a question.

Though, given how Ino looked, that wasn't a surprise. She didn't look like a girl who was talking through her problems. At least not to someone who knew as much as Max did about the situation.

"Uh huh."

Max eyed Ino doubtfully.

Still, might as well get down to business. "I still think you should. And I have someone in mind for the job."

"You're not," Max countered. "Though I have no desire to demonstrate that little fact again."

Besides, she was managing somewhat. Not enough, from his perspective, but she wasn't nearly as ragged as she had been.

"Hey, Ino," Triela called as she walked through the door.

She'd brought lunch.

"Lunch," Triela answered with a matching smile. "I couldn't remember if you liked burgers." But she hoped Ino did, because that's what was in the bag she held up.

So Triela did. Then she started pulling styrofoam containers out of the bag and setting them out.

"So..." Triela sucked at small talk.

"What's up?"

Good. Someone was going to need the skill in this conversation.

Triela leaned forward in a posture that kind of, sort of looked like interest. If you squinted. "You didn't."

"Is it a cat?" Many students at Fandom seemed to favor the fuzzy little things.
