Fixer-Uppers [all day]

Ben had been working quite happily on his datapad for an hour without incident.

Then he accidentally clicked on an ad and ended up in an endless loop of quizzes ("Do You Care Too Much?" "What Kind of Lover Are You?" "Are You With the Right Person?" "The Kinsey Test Made Simple!!1!").

"Go away, go away, go away..." Ben muttered, blushing hard.

Fixer-Uppers was open! And embarrassed.

Well, at least he wasn't yelling at the datapad this time?

"Busy?" Ender asked, as he kicked the door shut behind him. He had a bag of hamburgers with him.

"Is it still being bratty?" Ender asked, casually.

Internally, he was prepping himself for a hell of a fight with ... his banking program.

"Spam email?" Ender guessed, dropping the bag of food on the counter.

"That's a whole new area of torture," Ender said, sympathetically. Yep. Definitely talking to Jane. Again.

He took a hamburger out of the bag.

"I plan to read a lot and send some emails," Ender said, which was pretty much every day for him anyway, "Maybe watch some TV if that Titus Andronicus DVD I ordered comes in." Cheery material! "And you'd better put up some surveillance cameras. Tony is relentless."

"It's Shakespeare's bloodiest," Ender said, cheerfully, "Perfect for a quiet Saturday night."

And one day, Jane would accuse Ender of being just plain morbid.

"I'm not sure it's actually in your line," he said. "A fair bit of people's limbs go missing."

"No lightsabers in this world, kreetle," Ender said, "Sorry to disappoint."

There were several things Karla had to do before her portal arrived to bring her to Camelot, and one of those things was to show up at Fixer-Uppers and serenade Ben because her teachers were...well, Reno and Genesis and all that implied.

"Kiss kiss," she called, in slightly better spirits than she'd been in for the last...oh, three or so weeks. The prospect of just getting away from everything was a pleasant one. "Ben, you free?"

The singing would have to wait till Jason arrived, but the didn't mean she couldn't chat for a bit.

"Most of the characters don't make it to the end as it is," said Ender. "Shakespeare was always good at putting the human condition into words, and he captured bloody vengeance pretty well."
endsthegame: (not impressed)

"It's not my favorite play," Ender promised. "But I've never seen any kind of performance of it."
endsthegame: (is looking up)

"No, because it's Shakespeare's early work, and he gets better with age," Ender said, with a wry little smile. "He's written better, but it's still good."

"You should," Ender agreed. "I like The Tempest best, but you can't go wrong with most of them, and I think you have to find out which one works best for you on your own. He covers a lot of ground."
