Fast Eddie's; Wednesday Evening [ 02/16 ].
With everything Ariel had going on, around the island and in her head, she expected she'd probably wind up running late for her meeting/sort-of date with Chuck at the bowling alley, but she was pleasantly surprised to show up with plenty of time on her hands...
Plenty of time to admire her feet in her great bowling shoes! What wasn't to love about bowling shoes? And the person behind the counter was so nice to let her go through a few of the different color combination until she found one in her size she particularly liked. True, they wouldn't sell them to her to keep, but that was okay. Those would just have to be her pair every time she came to bowl.
Musing over the fashion of bowling shoes was more than enough to keep her occupied, too, until Chuck showed up.

He waved at Ariel, and offered a bright grin. "I'm starting to learn, you have this knack for early." It was impressive, considering how much she did in a week.

"Unless you've got any theories about other things that lure you out early, because I might go for those!"

He grinned, switching tracks. "So uh, how was your weekend?" Busier than his, probably.

"Still weird, but possibly not as weird as yours?" he guessed. He did the 'holy crap, two kids' thing last year, and could remember the feeling.

Ariel tilted her head, looking down at her feet, wiggling her toes inside of them. "Definitely weird, yeah. They were so...different, you know? And they knew all this stuff about me...older me...that I didn't know...and...I try not to think about it; it just makes my head kind of hurt."

Really, Ariel had to ask, eyes wide on Chuck for a moment before something made her grin and ask, "Did the kid look like yo? Or like your friend?"

In fact, after a moment he dug around in his pocket for his phone, and paged it back to the point that he could show (http://www.livejournal.com/allpics.bml?user=borntobenerd) her. Easier all around, and he didn't have to actually talk about the possibility she looked like him.
"But like you say, no, not so much with the possible." Holding to that so hard.

At least, she could only assume that's what the mysterious Prince Eric probably looked like. She did know for a fact that Melody definitely didn't get those eyebrows from her...

"If I hadn't been so freaked out, I'd probably really have enjoyed that weekend." Chuck was totally set on the idea of marriage, and babies and his very own happily ever after some day. The softy. "This one, I could definitely get into."

There was a bit of a pause.
"Not that I'd mind if it decided to take its time happening again, of course."
no subject
"... I don't know how that works."

"Mostly the second one." Just in case she was wondering.

"... Which I'm really not sure I can do." And he probably wouldn't try all that hard. Competitive wasn't really Chuck. Except possibly when it came to video games.
