Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet II, Town Park, Friday Afternoon

The nice thing about holding school events at the park was that when tents needed to be set up, they could be spread throughout the park. There were more tables of food and drinks over here, as well as more places to sit and mingle, in case the other ~~post~~ tables became crowded.

The registration table near the front had nametags for everyone, and a banner to welcome everyone to the first Parents' Weekend of 2011!

Weapons aren't being collected, but security is out there making sure things run smoothly, so feel free to say hello!

When Leda spotted Wiseguy and Sai in the crowd, you'd think they hadn't seen each other in years. Rather than just about a month.

There were delighted screams, running, and a lot of hugging.

It was impossible to miss the big, yellow feathery head towering over everyone.

"Big Bird!" Robin called out happily. "Over here!"

Big Bird swiveled his head around to where he'd heard his friend. "Robin!"

After the moment of delirious glee, Wiseguy sobered somewhat. "Leda I come bearing news from Bordertown. And...I don't know that you're going to like it."

"Wiseguy, why? Why you gotta bring me down like that, just when we were all so good?" She sighed. "Alright, get it out, what happened?"

Robin hopped up into the air so Big Bird could find him over the crowd. "Over here!"

"Micky and Goldie broke up and sold Elsewhere."

"What?!"

"To Wolfboy and Sparks!" Sai added quickly, glowering at Wiseguy. Way to break the news to her gently.

Well at least the store had stayed in the family so to speak but still, this was like her parents getting a divorce. "Why'd they break up?"

"They're relationship just kind of ran it's course." Wiseguy said gently. "That happens sometimes. They're still each other's best friend though."

If asked, Stefan would blame Damon for his potentially tardy arrival to the event. But since there were still name tags and plenty of people mingling, he was betting on plenty of time to meet and greet.

When it came to who was going to be taking a day or two to visit Fandom to see how Alaric and Caroline were getting on, Damon would likely laugh and tell anyone who would listen that Stefan had drawn the short straw. Stefan, however, thought it was a great opportunity and he found himself a drink and a good place to people watch.

Barbara had been pleased that the access to the park was so easy-- and even more so when she saw the crowds there. A quick glance at the table, and a tag that said Barbara Gordon was placed next to her collar.

Nathan's good mood was barely hanging on at the moment and it was only due to still being stupidly hopeful that someone might show up to see him and having an amusing chat with some chick earlier.

He'd been wandering through the crowd, keeping an unlit cigarette between his lips because of that pesky oral fixation when he spotted a familiar name on a nametag that a bloke in front of him was wearing.

"I know that name!" Nathan exclaimed, pointing at the nametag. "You're the guy in the phone!"

Hey, the last time he'd seen that name, he'd been dicking around in Caroline's phone so he thought that reaction was perfectly warranted.

Stefan was fairly certain that was an original greeting, as was the kid pointing at his nametag and looking quite pleased with himself.

"I've been a lot of things in my time, but 'the guy in the phone' is definitely new," Stefan replied.

"You know Caroline, right?" Nathan asked, walking over and grinning. "Stefan...with the Italian last name. Stefan Rigatoni? Beefaroni? Ravioli?"

Nathan had eaten a lot of canned pastas in his life, if Stefan couldn't tell. "Something Italian, I remember that!"

"Salvatore," Stefan supplied, moving his drink to his left hand to offer his right in greeting. "And you are...?

"Nathan Young," he said, wiping his hands on his shirt (well, he'd been eating) before he shook Stefan's hand. "Caroline's my roommate. We live together seven days a week. Pretty fucking sweet, right?"

"Wait," Stefan was confused and wondering if there was some other Caroline who was friends with Stefan Ravioli because this had to be opposite world. "You live with Caroline Forbes...and you enjoy it?"
