True, it wasn't exactly rare for Ariel to get easily distracted with fashion while she was at work, but it was particularly potent today, as there were plenty of very cute and bright and colorful spring dresses that had come in and were in need of being hung up and put out on the floor.

Ariel couldn't help it that she was going to have to try and see how they all looked on her first! Consider it a help; this way, she'll know if anything was just not cute enough to be sold, really. Right?

Because otherwise she'll be buying one of every cute dress, ohmygosh.

Chuck had spent the better part of a week all but hibernating and wallowing in some good old self pity. But there was a point at which it became time to pick yourself up and get on with it, and he'd realised that was well past and he'd better do something about it.

And really... Who couldn't be perked up by a pretty girl in cute dresses?

Not him, that was for sure, and he raised his hand in a tentative wave of greeting and grinned at Ariel as he slipped into the store. If she wasn't busy, sure he'd distract her from buying all the dresses. Happily!

"Chuck!" Ariel, already in a great mood from all the clothes, found it very easy to beam a smile over at him when he came in. She whirled around, brandishing two dresses that she'd been considering. "Hi! What do you think? Pink? Or..." She switched from holding up one dress to the other, and giggled a little. "Well, pink?"

"Uh... Pink!" Chuck went with, pointing. "The first one," he clarified, just in case she hadn't been sure about the pointing. "But both very, uh, dress-like. And nice." He wasn't a great expert at dresses.

"How do you work here and not spend all your money?" he wondered. It was obvious that might be a problem here.

"Good choice!" Ariel said, but it should be noted that both dresses went with her anyway; she set them over by the counter and, once freed of them, seemed ready to bounce all her attention toward Chuck. "And that's why I have two jobs now, yeah..."

Although, really, it wasn't any better at the music shop, either.

Plus, being a princess probably helped with finances, too.

But clothes weren't exactly on the forefront of her mind anymore. "So what brings you in, Chuck?"

"Well, you know, I had time between classes, and I thought I should... see people." Her. Chuck curved a little grin and meandered his way over to the counter.

His room was empty and silent and he needed someone cheery. Ariel was the obvious choice for many reasons.

"So here I am. Visiting... How are you?"

"I'm good," Ariel said, smiling easily back at him for that small grin. "Even better now that I'm being visited! What about you? Haven't had much time to track you down and bug you lately."

"It's-- Kind of a funny few weeks," he answered honestly. "Too quiet. Ellie, she went back to Encino, and my roommate... I actually have no idea where she is." He had a vague notion that she'd gone home for a while, but that was about it.

"But, I uh, I'm getting back, you know? I'm pretty okay." Trying to be a little more upbeat about it all.

Because the world cannot end before my birthday!!!
