Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday Afternoon

After a thorough sweep of the store to make sure there were no pipes, mushrooms, or flying turtle-geese creatures to send her back to the dorms yet again, Karla started taking inventory of exactly what had been broken, dirtied, or otherwise ruined during the invasion over the weekend.

Great. 'Dite hadn't even left yet and already the store was in need of repair. That boded well.

She'll be happy to fill you in on her exciting weekend trapped in the dorms.

'Dite had figured that, if there had to be an invasion, little hopping things that just teleported you places wasn't a bad kind of invasion. She'd take that over hallucinogenic fog anyday.

She was figuring there was probably damage to the store, but nothing had put a big hole in the wall to another world, and no one had stolen the store and her cat. In her book, this was a win.

With that attitude, she entered the store with a smile, prepared to help clean up and zap things back into place.

"Karla! Did you have fun with the little turtle and mushroom guys?"

"You are leaving today?" Raven said, sadfacing at 'Dite.

There could have been a chance she'd changed her mind.

"I am." 'Dite sadfaced back. "I wish I could take you all with me, but I can't. It just wouldn't be right." She sighed. "But -- you'll be here as my support when I come home, right?"

"Of course," Raven said, nodding. "I have another year of school left here, and I have no intention of leaving sooner than that."

Except for the wee problem of her boyfriend graduating, but mmm, denial.

"And Karla has another two years. Which means, I have two years to get things in order, so I can help her retake Glacia." With a sigh, 'Dite shook her head. "Hopefully it won't take that long." She looked around. "You two are gonna keep this place going for me, right?"

"I will be here every Tuesday unless I am called away to help someone or the island is invaded," Raven promised. Or if she was dead. Details. "Though after next summer I will have to leave, but I am not certain what I will do then."

"Well, who knows? If nothing else develops for you, maybe I'll take you along to my world and you can help me keep Ares in line."

She glanced over at Karla, who seemed busy. "Or, I might ask you to stay and watch over the *ahem* store. You could be the manager and make Karla order all the really steamy books you like." 'Dite winked at Raven.

A blush crept on to her cheeks to replace any sadfacing still going on. She'd read several of the books in the store, so she couldn't deny that.

"I-I do not know the first thing about managing a store," she stammered instead.

The sulk Karla turned on 'Dite was probably answer enough. "I do not get along well with waterfowl," she announced loftily. "Even waterfowl masquerading as turtles."

Guess who spent most of the weekend locked in the dorms. Just guess.

'Dite had told Raven to come by the shop on Monday, plus she hadn't had time to talk to Karla since the previous weekend, and she was wondering how much of that Karla remembered.

"Hello, Karla," she said pleasantly as she entered the store.

"Kiss kiss," Karla called cheerily. Raven was a pacifist. She wouldn't want to talk about the turtle-geese that had sent Karla to her room all weekend. "You're in a good mood today. Have there been any, errrr, arresting developments in your relationship?"

Someone thought she was hilarious.

"Karla!" Raven exclaimed, turning a lovely shade of pink.

She ducked her head, then looked back up with a shy smile. "As a mater of fact," she said. "There have."

"Oooh?" Karla waggled her eyebrows at her friend and giggled. "Do tell. You know, everything you can that won't leave me breathless and scandalized."

So...feel free to share everything, woman.

"We went to a concert in his world, and afterward to a hotel in Baltimore so we would not disturb George or Ariel," Raven said. That blush wasn't fading. "And I surprised him with the handcuffs. He was...most appreciative."

"Really," Karla said, as a wicked grin bloomed. "Did you let him out before morning?"

"Of course I did!" Raven said. "It would be uncomfortable to sleep that way."

"Oh, you slept?" Karla teased, pretending to sound disappointed. "There's a shame."

"We had to," Raven said, her blush fading and her tone growing maybe a tiny bit more gloating. "We were exhausted after all."

"Well, I guess I can't argue against that," Karla said with a laugh. "So it sounds like your experiment was a success!"

She really shouldn't ask the next question, but come on. She had to. "What was it like?" she asked. "I mean...generally. Ish."

And the blush came right back. She leaned in close to Karla to confide. "It was strange to be in such control, though it was for his pleasure, so it was him who was truly in control. But it was very stimulating."

Karla grinned at her. "I take it those handcuffs will be making a regular appearance then?" she asked. "Since it was so stimulating, you're blushing right now?"

"I did bring them back home with me," Raven giggled. "So they may be used again at some point in the future."

"I would hate to think you'd left them in a hotel somewhere," Karla said. "That would just be rude. Or maybe fun. I'm not sure."

Like it says on the tin.
