Mystery Sign Theatre, Wednesday

Kate only had her acting final left, and by now she actually had found a way to study for it. She thought it was kind of a genius idea, actually. And pretty simple, too, as people might have been able to deduce from the marquee outside:

Yes. Because watching your acting teacher act in an action movie totally counted as studying. Kate even sent out a handwavy email to everyone else in class to notify them it was playing, and to point out that should Professor Lee drop by and see them acting so eager to watch more of his work, maybe that'd even effect their grades in a positive way.

Kate thought it was worth a shot. MST3000 was open for business.

Bod hadn't received Kate's email but he didn't really need any other reason besides Kate herself to wander down to the movie theatre. His finals were done so he had nothing else to do.

So, he walked up and smiled at her as he did.

Kate grinned at him once she spotted him approaching. "Hey, you," she said. "Drawn in by the promise of cheesy action flicks?"

"Yes, that's exactly the reason I'm here," Bod said, nodding. "I have never heard of this movie but somehow, while I was lying in bed, it called to me."

"Mm, well, it does star Fandom High's own esteemed Professor Lee," Kate shared with a smirk. "I can see how it'd lure you into showing up."

"I only know the name so that doesn't really mean anything to me," he admitted with a shake of his head. "I was more coming by to see you in action at work."

"In inaction, you mean," Kate corrected with a little chuckle. "I don't actually do a whole lot."

"Does that mean I should make you work since I am technically a customer?" Bod asked curiously. "I'm sure I could find a way."

"You could always buy some overpriced candy," Kate suggested, gesturing at the counter between them. "Or maybe a soda. The popcorn's very good too."

"The candy actually sounds good," Bod said, glancing down at the counter. "Which is the best if I wanted something chocolate?"

"This movie is going to be nigh unwatchable," Ramona offered as she wandered up. There was something familiar about Kate -- something other than 'she's been in that class I TA all semester' but she couldn't put a finger on it. "At least, if it's anything like the other two of his I've seen."

"I don't know, I think Action Doctor was pretty okay," Kate replied with a one-shoulder shrug and a little smirk. She actually did know who she was talking to (apart from 'TA for the class I invited everyone here from today') but maybe she'd say something about that later. "Y'know, in a mockable way."

"Agreed. But did you see I Hope There's a Heaven?" Ramona asked, arching a brow at her. "I mean, talk about mockable, but that was the only way to watch that. With ample popcorn for throwing."

Kate made a face. "I only saw the death scene he showed in class, thank God," she said. "One of the dudes here suggested that for today but I told him we can't serve alcohol for people to watch that."

Ramona snorted, shaking her head. "There's an acting tip for Lucas. Open bars at all theaters showing your work will instantly improve reviews. And sometimes you really need that. Plus, you know, we could make up drinking games!"

"Man, that would make for a pretty awesome end-of-term party, wouldn't it?" Kate mused with an amused expression. "Lucas Lee movie marathon drinking game. Take a shot every time he's being dramatic."

"Take a shot. If. He breaks up a sentence. Into at least two parts," Ramona added, trying to make her voice sound appropriately gravelly and Lucas-like.

It was close enough for Kate to snicker. "Or if he pushes someone out the window," she supplied. "Two if he does it for no apparent reason whatsoever."

He'd done it in class, so there was no reason to think he wouldn't do it in a movie.

"If he touches his chinstrap, or someone else does," Ramona said, nodding in agreement. "I'm pretty sure that -- along with the window thing -- happens in all of 'em. Not that I've seen all of them, but I've got a pretty good idea of what Lucas thinks acting is."

I keep thinking maybe this Spencer character can become four separate people at the same time or somesuch?

And that Lucas mainly acts with his eyebrows.
