The Arms Hotel Lobby, Friday [4/29]

Mary was wearing one of her fanciest couture dresses today. There was no special reason, other than it was Friday. Hey, she dressed up like this every day of the week when she worked in Las Vegas!

Oh, there's a wedding going on? Mary's pretending to know nothing of it. Ignore the celebrity magazines at the front desk.

A young blond man (who looked a lot like a man who'd checked in yesterday) approached the reception desk. "Hi," he said. "I'm here for graduation. I think my sister set up a room for me?"

"...Uh huh," said Mary, raising an eyebrow and feeling a little bit of déjà vu. She usually remembered her blonds, and she was certain she'd seen this one before. "Your name?"

"Luke Skywalker," he replied promptly, fighting back the urge to add on an "I'm here to rescue you!" He got a little giddy when he was nervous like this.

"Skywalker..." Mary repeated as she went to pull up the reservations database. "I must have checked in some of your family members yesterday because the name sounds familiar."

"Huh," Luke said, looking a little confused. "I didn't know the name was that common."

Leia had left out a few things when telling him about Fandom.

[OOC: ...sigh.]

"More common than you think," Mary mumbled as she read her computer screen again. She wasn't imagining things, but there was one Luke Skywalker checked in and another who was due to check in today. "Did you, uh, make any special requests with your reservation?" she asked, crossing her fingers and hoping that she hadn't put the wrong Skywalker in the wrong room.

"I don't think so?" Luke replied. "I just need a bed and a shower. I'm not that picky."

"So you definitely did not ask for a crib?" asked Mary. After all, there was another Skywalker who frequently requested a crib when staying at the hotel.

Luke gaped at her. "No! I don't even have a girlfriend!"

Shocking, that. Really.

"Just checking. I get a lot of guests who ask for one," said Mary. "But I think I've got your reservation. You'll be in room 206. Not a bad room, and it's got a pretty good view."

Also, it was on a separate floor and opposite end of the hallway from the other Luke Skywalker.

"Thank you," Luke said, grinning. "What's your name?"

"Mary Connell," she said, grinning. "And if you think you can get a room upgrade by complaining to my boss, you're out of luck. I own the hotel."

"Oh, not at all!" Luke replied. "It's very nice to meet you, Mary."

Luke was still new enough to being off of Tatooine that it was kind of surprising not to know everyone's name.

"Nice to meet you too." Again.

She handed Luke his room key. "You're all set. If you just head down this hallway, you'll find the elevator. Take a left when you get out and your room should be just a few doors away. And if there's anything else you need help with, let me know," said Mary, making a mental note to warn the rest of the staff to double-check IDs in case any more Skywalkers showed up to check in.

"Thanks! And which way is the school?" Luke asked.

Mary grabbed a map and sketched out the best route to take. "You shouldn't have much trouble finding it since it's pretty much the biggest building on the island. And go ahead and keep the map," she added.

There was a nagging feeling that she should probably warn Luke to stay away from gremlins, but she decided against it. Scaring away the tourists was never a good idea.

"Thank you for that too," Luke said with a little wave, heading for his room.

He'd shower and head out to find Leia and have a quiet weekend with his sister. How exciting could a graduation ceremony be, really?

It's a big lobby with room to spread out and enjoy your cake.

I haven't had much sleep, so please excuse me if pings are slow or don't make sense!
