The Preserve: After Classes Monday [5-9-11]
After classes, Mercy headed out to the Preserve to meet Blysse and Blind Seer. She'd brought hot chocolate for herself and Blysse and had managed to talk the burger guy into just giving her a few raw patties for Blind Seer.
She was a little nervous, but also very interested to know more about the two of them.
[ooc: For the two she's meeting and NFB, please!]

"So," Firekeeper said. "You wish to talk?" Some people might start with 'how are you?' or other such pleasantries. Firekeeper was not some people.

Well, he didn't seem to hate her the way most wolves hated coyotes, so things were going pretty well so far.

"But you are not werewolf," Firekeeper said, sipping at her drink as Blind Seer snapped up the meat patties. "Though your smell is not human either." Firekeeper's own scent, for the record, was more wolfish than anyone wearing a human shape's ought to be.

She bit her lip. "I'm a walker and I can shift into a coyote. I didn't plan to tell anyone else, but I figured you and Blind Seer would figure it out sooner or later, so it made sense to say something first. And I wasn't sure if maybe you were a shifter, too, since you smell a lot like wolf."

She'd often wished she was a werewolf, herself, so that for once she'd have a chance of being accepted by the pack. And she couldn't help wondering if her foster father still would have killed himself after Evelyn's death if she'd been a werewolf and not just a coyote.
It still hurt too much to think about, so instead she turned to Blind Seer. "I wasn't sure if you would be... uncomfortable... being around me in class. I know most werewolves and wolves hate coyotes here. They'll kill them if they find them in their territory."

[ooc: totally up to you on whether or not she'd understand him!]

She turned back to Blind Seer and gave him another respectful nod. "Thank you. I would be honored to run with you. I... I haven't shifted in a number of months because I've been trying to, well, to fit in at my mother's house, but as long as I don't end up on the radio..."
It might actually be a relief to shift. She didn't have to, the way werewolves did, but she couldn't deny that she started feeling edgy when she didn't shift for a long time.

[ooc: And no worries! RL can be nuts! I'm always fine with SP.]
