Cabot and Associates, Monday
There were no assignments noted from Ms Cabot today, so Momoko had been working on the research files, but she'd gotten distracted by some news-clippings and a transcript that had been misfiled.
Reading, of course, it became clear why the last person had misfiled them. The case involved an attempted kidnapping of one child, the horrible death of another, and two women from different states who didn't know each other but who each claimed to be the biological mother of a little girl.
That alone was confusing, but once she pulled the case the clippings and transcript actually belonged to, there was mention of a doctor accused of malpractice and a connection to another case involving forgery and more children?
Obviously this file had to be read to be able to properly file it... Ooh! DNA evidence!
