George was bored. This was not all that surprising; George was usually bored, especially at work.

So she had bought some Popsicles, because it was fucking hot out, that was why, and she was eating some of those Popsicles -- again, with the hot -- and then she was going to make some kind of art-thing with the popsicle-sticks.

Or she might spell out 'Fuck Off, Apu' if he kept giving her looks like that. One of the two.

Ramona, with her hair newly blue, wandered in. She was a little subdued, even for her, but she was trying to move on, and today was the first step in doing so.

"Are you saving the sticks so you can make like, a tiny village or something out of it?" she asked George as she meandered toward the counter.

"I was going to make art," George said with a sigh. "Maybe a huge middle finger or something else stereotypically antisocial. I welcome suggestions."

"There's always just the letters F and U," Ramona noted, tilting her head in consideration. "Get's the point across nicely, if not artistically."

"A crudely drawn penis, or a butt," George mused. "Vulgarity gives that nice flavor of immaturity and irresponsibility. I'm gonna need more Popsicles for this."

A shame she couldn't steal them, but Apu would probably narc her out.

"The only problem with either of those is the curve," Ramona said, shaking her head. "Asses are curved. There are balls to contend with as far as penises go. Clearly boobs are out of the question for the same reason. But I'm willing to help out your Popsicle stick cause if you'll fork over a grape one."

George reached under the counter and wordlessly produced a twin-set of grape.

"Maybe we just spell out F U APU," George suggested. "Short, to the point, and doesn't need any curves if we make the U's all boxy."

There was a huffy noise from near the Squishybot. One that implied Apu was not going to dignify that with a response, thank you very much.

Ramona slanted a look that way, taking the offered treat. "Giving you a hard time, or just fun to mock?"

"He doesn't like me," George said, rolling her eyes. "He glares at me whenever I'm working."

Really, he glared at George when she wasn't working, but was, instead, lolling around, whining, or ignoring customers. Which was all the time.
