A small town in the Pacific Northwest to Luke's Diner, Fandom, Very, very early Saturday morning

The town of Eureka slept the sleep of the reasonably certain that nothing would attempt to destroy the world until at least daybreak. They snuggled up in their beds, dreaming dreams of amazing inventions and Nobel Prizes and world peace.

Well, except Global Dynamics' night janitor. But you'll have to forgive him, he's new.

Which would explain why he didn't know better than to fiddle with a few of the inventions left lying about in the labs. Well, and perhaps he was a distant Fargo relative.

But it was alright. Those particular inventions didn't destroy the world or anything. One of them turned any near by mold forms blue. One made the EM field covering the town pulse in morse code. And one made the most popular eatery in town suddenly implode.

Cafe Diem vanished from the streets of Eureka as if it had never been, taking its proprietor along with it. It zipped across dimensions in a nanosecond, before crash landing on a small island currently in the Mediterranean Sea, not far from Atlantis. Crash landing, in fact, right on top of one of the popular eateries.

Or perhaps we should say: right into it.

When the interdimensional dust cleared, neither Cafe Diem nor Luke's Diner remained. Or, rather, they both remained. The sign out front warped back and forth between the two names before settling uneasily on "Cafe Luke's".

Upstairs in the loft, Vincent, proprietor and master chef of Cafe Diem, slept on oblivious.

You learned to sleep through a lot, in Eureka.

[ooc: and Vincent has arrived! Establishy. He'll make his entrance proper come morning. . . .]
