Trooper Station [Thursday morning]
Anakin was an extremely stubborn man, but even he knew that when he'd grown a tail, it was time to go to the clinic.
With something foreign feeling like it pushing at his brain, most of his skin gone absolutely gray and this overwhelming urge to eat a Stormtrooper (which was never a good sign), Anakin scrawled a mostly legible note (what the hell, he didn't need claws. Somehow this was all Barney's fault. Maybe he could eat Barney instead? No, cannibalism was...something. Wrong? Was it wrong?) leaving Charlie Swan, then Ralph in charge of the troopers, reiterated that no one who looked infected was to step one foot near the portal or the causeway, flipped the hood of his robe up to cover his eyes, and headed for the door.
"I'm going out!" he bellowed to the station at large, though it felt to him like his tone and pitch was much closer to Vader's voice than to his own.
He had a bad, bad feeling about this, even as he tapped out a "Everything's mostly okay here. Summer invasion, etc., staying here for the week, love you" text to Rory, which took three times as long with claws.
Which he was not telling his wife about, no.

Give her a second and she'd realize Anakin was infected as well.

She peered closer at Anakin. "But you don't sound so good," she said.

"But the other day one of the alots got a little aggressive toward me. I wasn't sure what it was doing so close to the school. It didn't bite me or scratch me, though." Just drooled. Eww.

She waved her hand at Anakin. "Is this what I have to look forward to, now? Sometime tells me it's not just going to go away after a day or two."
It was, after all, August, and she'd spent her last one running for her life from creatures she preferred not to remember.

"Not if it follows the pattern," Anakin said, reaching up to touch his head and hoping Leia wouldn't notice the claws. The urge to kill and feed was getting stronger and more annoying. "Come with me to the clinic."

"You have claws?" she said, taking a step back.

She didn't mean to be so snappish, but the sickness was beginning to affect her mood as well.

Because he'd never spent time in bacta tanks during the Clone Wars. Or lost appendages. Or spent 20 years in a suit that breathed for him. Oh wait...

Which wasn't a fair comment by a long shot, but she was hardly rational at the moment.
