Gigi was still on roller skates (to fit the mood of Pleasantville) and, as it turned out, hospitality droids just weren't designed to do something like skate. As she stumbled around the restaurant while bringing dishes out, clearing tables, and such, Zayne had to keep careful watch and catch her a few times with the Force. He was starting to suspect that Gryph didn't really make the investment Zayne assumed he had with the droid. He probably got a good deal on a "quirky" model.

At least it kept him busy during the quieter business hours.

Toby didn't know what the heck a Rokarian Dirt-Fish Fillet Sandwich was, but he had a little bit of cash on him so he figured, well, why not?

Unfortunately, as he got to the end of his meal and started scrounging around in his pockets for said cash, he discovered that it really was a little bit of cash. Not even close to the amount on the bill.

There really was only one thing to do in a situation like this. He waited until the robot-thing on skates was busy trying to clean up a spilled salt shaker, and then made a break for the door.

Having been a criminal for most of the last year, Zayne recognized the signs of a dine and dash. Namely, the running from the restaurant as fast as the diner could. That was a big clue.

Rather than chase the kid down, Zayne did what he obviously had to do. He reached out a hand and lifted it, using the Force to lift Toby off the ground.

Toby's eyes widened as he realised one very important fact. His feet were currently not touching the ground. That was not right.

"Gyah!" he said intelligently, flailing his arms around in an attempt to... possibly fling himself back to the ground. Or something.

"Even if you managed to get down, I'd just hold the door closed," Zayne pointed out. "And that would be even easier than this is." Admittedly, it wasn't that easy for Zayne to hold a flailing person in the air. But he was still able to do it.

"You can't just hold me like this forever, though," Toby pointed out. At least, he hoped he couldn't...

"No, but I can hold you until you tell me why you chose to skip paying for your meal," Zayne said.

"It wasn't that I didn't want to," Toby tried. "It was just. I kinda- didn't actually check to see how much cash I had on me before I ordered. And then the food was made and it was too late and I couldn't just let it go to waste..." he trailed off, giving Zayne an uncertain look.

Zayne lowered lowered his hand, letting Toby drop safely. "You know, there are better options than trying to cheat a Jedi."

No, he wasn't technically a Jedi. But if Anakin was still teaching around here, he figured people would know what that meant.

"What the heck's a Jedi?" Toby had to ask, because while he had taken a class with Anakin, the word didn't sound familiar.

It wasn't that Jaina was really hungry- for some reason she hadn't had an appetite lately- but there was a new place in town. It was mainly that there was a new place in town that she didn't know, which bothered her because it meant things were going on without her and that was just not okay by her, and she wanted to check it out.

And if she sensed someone familiar, well, it just meant she was going to be happier about the new-places-popping-up-while-she-was-gone thing.

"Owning a business, of course," Zayne said proudly. But that pride shrunk after a second. "Well, co-owning and managing. But my co-owner is only here in spirit and slightly larger than life-sized statue.

"I just hope I never have to put together a resume. It would take days," Zayne said. "So what are you doing here? Just visiting?"

"Something like that. I'm here for a few days maybe. Thought I'd check out what's new," she replied. "How long have you been back here?"

"Only a couple weeks. After everything that happened back home, I figured it would be nice to come back here for a while and relax," Zayne said. "So of course I got here right when people started turning into monsters."
