The Gig: Thursday [8-18-11]

Helen was taking the opportunity to give all the horses a little exercise today. All of them were having a good time!

The squire hung back a bit, laughing at the antics of the horses and of the Helen. He waved to get their attention. "Hello, The Gig!"

"Lovely day for a little fun!" he called out to her.

"Fancy a ride?" he asked. "We could have a picnic before the colder weather starts in."

"Excellent. I'm sure we could scrounge for supplies," he stated.

As he might be as well...

"Ah, well, I do have a few bits with me," he said, teasing back. There was a small sack he'd carried, left near the door, with some bread and cheese. "Just a bit, mind."

[sorry! working on renfest costumes of doom the past few days!]

"Let's go," he replied, grinning.

"Then off we go," he said, swinging himself up into the saddle. "And may we make the most of it."

[*wibble* Are you keeping her on as an Alum?]

James followed; it seemed that Helen lead at a slower pace than usual. He chalked it up to the weather, and the upcoming cold.

[If you want, you can send her into James's world for a bit. Always a refuge available.]

He enjoyed the rustling of the leaves, the relative quiet of the trail over the bustle of town. It was a tranquility he'd not known he lacked.

[no problem.]

He smiled as he dismounted, giving the horse some headpats. "It's not much today," he said as an apology. "Was not prepared."

He was a squire, not a boy scout.

"Oddly enough, I am too," he said, bringing out the not-quire-meager picnic supplies.

"Relaxing, enjoying the summer before it ends," he said, agreeing. He raised his water bottle. "To us."
