Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday Afternoon

The last thing in the world Karla wanted to be reminded of right now was sex. So, of course, she had to work today. Of course she did. Why would anything in this world want to go well for her today?

Rather than mope about it further though, Karla was going to look at this as an opportunity. An opportunity to find everything relating to nuns, priests, or religion in general and destroy it.

There. That would be nicely therapeutic.

She's merrily shredding a few costumes. And looking murderous. Merrily murderous.

It was imperative Raven checked on Karla. Especially after finally hearing the radio broadcast. She knew she'd find her at the store on a Monday afternoon, and though she was loathe to return to the scene of her own crimes, so to speak, she headed there after her class.

"Karla?" she called, stepping into the store. "How are you doing?" Aside from being merrily murderous.

All things considered, this store was one of the last places Kennedy wanted to be today, but she'd gotten bored of hiding in her hotel room after a while and wanted to catch up with some friends while she was on the island, so... she could totally deal. She hadn't listened to the radio broadcast, but she was pretty sure she wasn't the only one who'd done anything questionable. (Well, maybe not that... ugh, never mind. Some things just did not bear too much thinking about.)

So whatever. This was her, dealing, and going into the shop on strictly non-business, here-to-see-a-friend purposes.

You'd think that wouldn't be cause to have her best bitchface on, but hey.

"Yo, Karla."

"Fine!" The slightly manic smile she gave Raven on her entrance probably suggested 'fine' was not the best word. As did the way she was destroying what had once been an abbreviated nun's habit. "Just peachy! Everything--" rip "--is--" tear "--great!"

Shred shred shred.

"Kiss ki--ugh, never mind," Karla groaned. Not that she had anything against seeing Kennedy. In fact, Kennedy was someone she hadn't made a fool of herself in front of or had sex with, so she was kind of high on the list of people Karla was willing to see today.

But her usual greeting? NOT THE BEST CHOICE TODAY.

Really not. Actually, Kennedy suspected that had she not spent all weekend brooding (but looking hot about it, if she did say so herself) and being an emo, mopey, smoking what the hell twit, neither of them might be able to look the other in the eye right now.

"No, I hear you," Kennedy muttered, eyeing the mess Karla was making with a slightly sympathetic noise; she'd spent a good chunk of her morning systematically tearing apart every cigarette left in the pack she'd found in her pocket from yesterday. "This last weekend can go f--"

NO, NO, ALSO TERRIBLE CHOICE OF WORDS.

"To hell. It can go to hell, for like, ever. But, you know, other than that, because we are so not talking about this, how've you been?"

"I need to return this," Miley said flatly. Or miserably might be a better word.

The "this" in question was a huge bag of decidedly un-Disney items that would require enormous amounts of brain bleach to get her to forget. God. WHY, SOAP OPERAS, WHY?

"If we don't talk about that-which-should-not-be-talked-about?" Karla asked. "Not bad. Getting some real progress into the refugee village we're building in Arceria. That's something. Uhh..."

Actually, wait. All of August had sucked, too.

"This summer could use a do-over," she decided.

Karla looked sympathetic...and also a little uncomfortable. "'Dite's has a strict no-return policy on certain, errr, personal items," she said. "I could take a look and see if there's anything we can accept?"

"Please," said Deeply Traumatized Miley, passing the bag over the counter to Karla. There were so many things. So many terrifying, terrifying things. Some of which were most definitely not from this store, but Miley had assumed the worst and was trying not to think about exactly how they were supposed to be used.

"I hate this island," she groused, reaching one hand up to cover part of her face. "Really. Haaaaate it."

"I kind of partly want to say I could go for a do-over on a whole lot longer than that," Kennedy admitted ruefully, scratching at her ear, "but I guess I'm mostly okay with most of it. Guess I've had it better than a lot of you guys have, from what I've heard."

She rarely admitted to that. It felt weird.

"Missed everybody, though. It's sorta nice to be back for a bit."

"Uhhh, we don't sell produce," Karla said, getting a new bag to place some phallic vegetables into. "Maybe you were going to make a salad?"

...Or maybe it would be best to assume nothing and just use them for compost.

"Some of these costumes are ours," she added, pulling out a few more items. "Unworn?"

Hope hope hope.

Miley peered over the counter, sighed wearily, and began sifting through. "This, this, and that are unworn," she said, pointing. Meanwhile there was a healthy pile of other costume items remaining in the bag. "Just... trash the rest."

Ewwwww.

"Yeah. The first two or so weeks of August were Hell," Karla said with a wry grin. "I guess compared to that, this past weekend wasn't all that--"

Wait. No. She'd slept with Nathan. And Seifer.

"No, I take it back. It was that bad."

Nathan.

Oh, yeah, you'd have Kennedy's eternal sympathy for that one, Karla.

"Mine was..." Well, if you didn't count Friday? Kennedy's mouth quirked up in a slightly sheepish smile. "Actually not all too horrible. Just mega-awkward. Sorry about yours?"

YOU STARTED IT, KARLA. AT LEAST NATHAN MADE IT GOOD FOR YOU OMG!

"Sometimes I dislike Fandom for what it does to us," Raven said, frowning, projecting calm as she drew near to Karla. "I am sorry."

She was starting to consider herself lucky. Except for the Max part.

It was now a case of unhealthy curiosity that had Karla still pawing through the bag. Sorry, Miley.

"Let's see, I think I can take all these handcuffs back," she offered. Why Miley had needed multiple pairs was beyond her, but there would be no judging. Not after the weekend. "And--this, too."

Whatever that was.

OH, LIKE HE DIDN'T ENJOY HIMSELF, TOO. GAWD!

Karla buried her face in her hands. And mumbled.

"ksnthnnsfr."

SEX. WITH NATHAN. AND SEIFER.

It was like a mantra that just kept going through her head.

"I think this is the first one where I've ever really, really regretted something," Karla admitted. "I know it wasn't me, but..."

"That good, huh?" Kennedy asked dryly. "Look at it this way: no way you're the only one, 'cause I was there at that giant mess of a wedding. And hey-- promise my opinion of you won't get knocked down a few notches for this... which we said we weren't gonna talk about, huh?"

Jono and Karla? Raven was starting to feel Single White Female'd by Seifer.

"It was not you," Raven said firmly. "It was some other Karla. You are not responsible for her actions any more than I was for mine or Jono for his."
