Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday Afternoon

The last thing in the world Karla wanted to be reminded of right now was sex. So, of course, she had to work today. Of course she did. Why would anything in this world want to go well for her today?

Rather than mope about it further though, Karla was going to look at this as an opportunity. An opportunity to find everything relating to nuns, priests, or religion in general and destroy it.

There. That would be nicely therapeutic.

Miley peered over the counter, sighed wearily, and began sifting through. "This, this, and that are unworn," she said, pointing. Meanwhile there was a healthy pile of other costume items remaining in the bag. "Just... trash the rest."

Ewwwww.

"Thank you so much," Miley said sincerely. "That -- what does that even -- no. Nope. Don't wanna know!" she sang out. "I am good not knowing."

She really, really was.

"YES," Miley agreed vigorously, pocketing the cash. "Totally."

Brief awkward pause, and then --

"So did you, like, have a weird weekend?"

Miley raised her eyebrows. "Oookay," she said, evidently perplexed. "I had another personality who was secretly a pop star who wanted to shed the double life by taking off her clothes."

Which was, well, meta-true.

Miley laughed awkwardly. "Yeaaah," she lied. "Totally... impossible."

"Oh, you know... attention, people kissing up to you, a way better wardrobe..."

Wait.

"But," Miley added, "you wouldn't get to live a normal life!"

Riiiiight. That was what she kept telling herself. Karla, was any of this sounding less than hypothetical?

Miley hesitated.

That was... oddly true.

"Well," she said, scrambling for a coherent response to that bit of profundity. "I guess. Not very?"

She was thinking HARD. And it showed, too. Her head hadn't tilted that much in a good long while.

Miley frowned even more, and yep, that was the face of a disillusioned kid right there. It was the There's-No-Santa? face all over again.

"I guess... you could look at it that way," she said finally. "But maybe if you told your really close friends, they could... sort of... move things around?"

And inconvenience them in your name. Real classy, Miley.

Miley thought about that for a minute, remembering instances when that had proven all too true. Like Lilly's birthday, for instance, and Jackson's basketball game. And her date with Travis, and...

"Yeah," she said. Then sprung up. "I've gotta go."

And then she bolted out of there. Sorry, Karla.
