Topher was not dressed like the typical teenage drinker. Nope, it was a button-down and a sweater vest for him, and khakis to boot. And he had a smirk on. Oh, yes he did.

"Guess who was nice to me today."

"Peter?" Was Kenzi's first guess. "Someone who gave you preppy clothes?" She poured a teeny little glass of clear amber liquor. "Here."

This was how he always dressed! It was just that today it wasn't stained. Chip crumbs, sure, but...

"Nope," he said, popping the P on purpose. "Student Council girl. From the Jell-o party."

Oh, this was so a plot. "Why? Why would she be nice to you?" She pointed. "And drink. It's whiskey. Toss it back."

Topher frowned and looked at it. "Why?"

He was happy with his Mountain Dew addiction, thanks.

"And I dunno. She talked about how there's never soda in the common room." Beat. "Which is 'cause I took it."

"Ohhh." A less-plotty plot. Kenzi settled down, vaguely reassured. "Are you going to put it back? ... and I want you to try this. Department of Quality Control," Kenzi said, trying to sound official. Then she grinned. "I'll give you a free soda if you try, like, three of these?"

Tyrion had been to Devil's Nest enough that he'd decided it was time to try the other bar on the island. He gave the young woman behind the bar a vaguely hairy look after hoisting himself onto the stool.

"I didn't expect to have to buy my ale from a student."

"Hi, Professor Lannister. There's no law against it on this island," Kenzi told him, looking amused and perky. "And we've got all the same drinks as any other bar. Plus I can try to make you something new!"

She was even half-way decent at it. Even if pretty liberal with the alcohol content.

Topher squinted at her.

"I... don't trust you," he said cautiously. "But okay."

Gingerly, he picked up the glass she'd set in front of him, held it up almost to his mouth, then glanced down into it.

And then drank it, then promptly wiped his mouth on his previously unstained shirt.

"Ew."

"It's not about the law," Tyrion told her, deciding to stop at one. "... but all right. Something from that bottle."

He was nodding at a neon blue fluid.

"Mostly because I'm fairly certain I've never seen food that color before."

"Blue Curacao!" Kenzi beamed at him and pulled it down, getting him a nice goblet. "I can make you a Blue Lagoon? It has the hard stuff in it." Vodka! Yay! She started pouring and said, "I should be doing the bartender thing and saying, 'hard day, hunh?'"

Thus proving he had no social skills, but did have social instincts.

"Not a whiskey guy, okay." Kenzi grinned and poured him a shot of rum. "So, when Quinn was done being nice to you, did you agree to put the soda back?"

"Nope." Again with the popping of the 'p.' Someone thought this was cool, yeah. "I took it in the spring, anyway. Drank it already."

He pointed at the rum. "What's this?"

"Whatever you think is best." She clearly needed the encouragement, what with the ... already pouring. Well, he was certain he'd drunk worse.

"And no, not especially." He watched her for a second more, then ventured, "Is there anyone from your home world here?"

"Rum. Arrrrr! Drink of pirates and squirrels!" Actually... "Here, I'll put it in a cola drink." Kenzi grinned as she poured and handed it over. "So was she annoyed or happy after you said no returns?"

"Apparently she likes coffee. Said Mountain Dew is gross WHICH IT SO IS NOT."

Sniff of the rum, then an experimental sip, followed by him downing the whole shot.

"Whoa." Topher shook his head as if stunned. "Tha's better."

Vodka, lemonade, and top with a cherry, then hand over a larger-than-strictly-necessary drink. Hey, she liked Prof. Lannister. Also, it might help her grade!

"Bo, do you know her? She's the Security Person at school. All official. And she bartends over at the Devil's Nest too." Kenzi grinned. "Kinda difficult to miss." What with the leather pants and boots and sex bomb thing.

"So you're getting her coffee?" Kenzi pouted, and decided to take a small shot of rum for herself. As consolation! "I don't know if I like that and hey! Hmm. Maybe I should put booze in Mountain Dew? Something has to taste good like that."

Topher snorted a laugh. "No! I'm not getting coffee for Jello G--"

Wait.

"Can you put booze in Jell-o?" Someone had never heard of a Jello-shot.

"She's noticeable." He was male and in Bo's age group. He'd gone back to the bvar a few times hoping she worked more than the one night. "There's a girl with white hair, Daenerys. She's from my world but a few years in the future."

As sip of the concoction, and he smacked his lips as he decided it was delicious. "It was not a touching reunion, I'm afraid."
