The Arms Hotel Lobby, Friday [9/30]
Last night, Mary had called an emergency staff meeting to discuss the situation with the logs, which seemed to be appearing in the lobby at a frightening rate. The bell hops volunteered to take them out back, so Mary put the logs out of her mind while she rushed to get the rest of the hotel ready for guests.
Today, as Mary was dealing with last-minute tasks, the bell hops came running into the lobby with big grins. They solved the problem with the logs, they explained to Mary. How? They built log cabins behind the hotel.
"I was expecting you to chop them for firewood, not built something with them," said Mary, not quite sure if this was a good thing. She ended up taking a look for herself. The cabins seemed fairly well-constructed, and the housekeeping staff had outfitted them with luxury amenities. They seemed to hold up well against the elements and even had stoves that provided plenty of heat. "I guess they can stay for now, though I'm not sure anyone would want to stay in one," she told the bell hops.
Welcome to the Arms Hotel
Today's Specials
French Onion Soup
Confit Duck Legs
Grilled Vegetable Antipasto with Herbed Chevre and Crostini
Banana Tartes Tatin
[Hotel Information | Room Assignments
Ideas that strike at 1 AM after two doses of cough syrup are not always the best, so no one has been booked to stay in the new luxury log cabins yet. If you'd like to switch rooms, let me know. Also, the Jello Dragon Suite is available since everyone who put it as a back-up got their first choice rooms.]

"I'm sure I'll need a break once everyone gets settled in their room. It's always so chaotic around check-in time," said Mary, smiling. "As for night light, there's a couple of bars in town that are both within walking distance. Caritas is entertaining, but the crowd there tends to be a bit younger than the Devil's Nest."
Re: Talk to Mary [9/30]
Yeah, she'd fix that. By the time she left, Mary would at the least know when a woman was extending an invite.
"Youth, hmm, nooo, not if they're younger than your darling employees," Saskia said, blowing them a kiss. They looked pretty happy. "Why is this weekend so rough on you, peach?"

"Unusual things happen all the time on this island," said Mary. "It makes it a lot harder to plan, but at least things never get boring."
Re: Talk to Mary [9/30]
"Well, I plan on being up very late. So you stop on by if you need a little girl-time, honey. I love catching up with the locals when I'm in a new place, and since I don't have any students to visit, I might be at loose ends."
...proooobably not. But always good to have back-up plans!
Re: Talk to Mary [9/30]
"I might stop by, then. Are you here for some sightseeing, or did something else attract you to the island?" she asked.

And just making sure that one little succubus was tucked away safe and sound from any courts or sides or plots or divides.
"A friend's invited me on a trip to Miami, and I'm just on my way back. Autumn on the east coast really is gorgeous, isn't it?"
And another dangerous smile was aimed at Mary.

Room service. Goddess Bless the 21st Century.
Re: Talk to Mary [9/30]
"Hey good looking!" one of the worms exclaimed. "Is there an airport nearby or is that just my heart taking off?"
All the worms laughed uncontrollably at the joke.
Re: Talk to Mary [9/30]
"If you're looking for a the comedy club, you're in the wrong place," she said.
Re: Talk to Mary [9/30]
And that would be more laughter and cheers from the other worms.

"C'mon! You call that cheesy? By the way did your daddy play the trumpet, because he sure made me horny! "
There was a lot of high fives on that one.

And, until the girl got there, Valanice was just going to enjoy sipping some tea and watching the passers-by.
Re: Mod Your Service [9/30]
But he didn't feel like going up to his room just yet. No, he was going to stick around the lobby and people watch.
No, he DIDN'T find anything strange about the Grim Reaper staring at passersby intently. He was just trying to be kind.
