Goodvalor's Little Bivoli, Sunday

With Gryph tearing through all of Zayne's financial statements last weekend to make sure he was keeping the Earth branch of Cargryph Capital Management profitable, Zayne didn't really have a chance to come in last weekend. When he made it in today, he asked his droids, "Miss me last week?"

Gigi answered by giving a mechanical sigh and pointing to the specials.

Today's Special:
Revolution Rolls

"That's not even really a meal," Zayne noted. Also it was calling for an overthrow of management, but that wasn't as big a deal. "I'll talk it over with the droids in back. Thanks for the warning."

A toad hopped into the restaurant. It took said toad a few hops to get close enough to Zayne to do what it intended to do, but it managed.

Of course, what it intended to do was stare up at Zayne with a look in its toad eyes that simply read, Why is it that when I finally make it here, I'm a toad?

Why the toad did this would probably not be explained any time soon, being that it was a toad.

The toad quirked its head. Unfortunately, not being a frog, which would at least have given it some vocal prowess, the noise it made in response was not particularly loud. Or eloquent.

In as far as an amphibian could be eloquent.

The toad wasn't actually sure if it could process proper food, but did it matter? Zayne was clearly the best ever and deserved its patronage.

So it hopped forward. Wouldn't you?

The toad had absolutely no idea, but any food sounded good right now. It gave a nod - as big as it could manage, considering the size differential - and made some more noise.

As soon as it was human again, it was so coming back.

The toad squinted at him. He was a mage, then. Well, okay. Sure. And all that.

... The toad was not strictly used to being a toad, and hence might have forgotten that Zayne couldn't actually tell it was okay with that, but. Details?

Personally, the toad was more interested in mages who were capable of helping it-- him cast Cleanse Area so he could wipe the magic from himself and turn back into a human being. But talking would be nice, too.

He gave Zayne a look of rapt attention.

Ewwww, insect meat.

... Wait, actually, that seemed very appetizing. And now he was hungry.

And scarfing up insects without paying Zayne another iota of attention. Toads had very tiny brains, and Alistair wasn't even very good at multitasking when he had a human-sized noggin.
