Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday

Mini-Morton had been built to be a help to Karla. As far as he (or his circuits, or programming, or whatever) was concerned, that did not mean that he'd been built to be left behind to open the store for Karla as she flitted off on one great adventure or the next. But that was exactly what she'd done; after packing for the school trip, she'd picked him up and headed for the Causeway--before dropping him off at the door to 'Dite's with a chirped, "Keep an eye on the store for me, okay?"

Not that Mini-Morton was feeling resentful or disappointed. That was absurd. He was a droid. They didn't have emotions like that. He was simply...not performing his most basic function and that reacted badly with his programming. Yes.

And now, talking to Little Strife the cash register, he most certainly wasn't engaging in any kind of petty or spiteful behavior. Absurd! It's just that sales were down and Mini-Morton--being the concerned droid he was--had decided to take some steps to maybe spark some interest in the store. Because he was helpful that way.

So, anyone who came into the store today and made a purchase would be getting 75% off their total. Wouldn't that be exciting? And Mini-Morton was hooking up to the store's wireless connection to see if he could maybe make a few other eye-popping changes around the store before Karla got back.

You're welcome.

Jamie came into the store.

Jamie found out about the discount.

Jamie bought... a LOT of items.

This will not end well.
