Trooper Station [all day]

After his first period class, Anakin stopped at the Perk for a really, really big coffee (the clones could do a lot of things, but brew a decent pot of coffee wasn't one of them) and then headed to the station to catch up on what had happened over the week (and not stopping in his office at school yet. You are sooooo lucky, Madrox. So lucky).

"Ralph? There couldn't possibly have been tumbleweeds blowing through town last week."

Someone was messing with the reports. Or at least Anakin hoped so...

The Trooper Station was open! Anyone committing a crime?

No crimes committed here! There may have been some jaywalking, but this place didn't exactly have traffic laws anyway, so a crime was debatable.

The first thing Audrey decided about this town was that it was smaller than she was used to. Also, this was the first time ever she'd had to report to anyplace called a "trooper station." She was going to reserve judgment on what that meant for the moment.

"I'm looking for whoever's in charge here," she said when she'd gotten inside. It was the first time Agent Howard had failed to give her a contact name, and thanks for that, Agent Howard.

Four guys with the exact same face (though unique and sometimes bordering on bizarre haircuts) pointed towards Anakin's office as he stepped out of it. "I'm Anakin Skywalker," he said. "Can I help you?"

Quadruplets? That was new. Audrey was good and didn't stare as she walked over to Anakin and held out her badge. "Audrey Parker. I was told I would be working out of this office?"

"Oh, right!" Anakin said. "I saw that in my paperwork."

Under the thing about tumbleweeds. Ralph needed to work on prioritizing.

"Welcome to Fandom."

"Thanks," she said. "Quiet town you've got here."

Which would be Audrey subtly trying to figure out what was up, since she figured she was being sent somewhere... bigger and not so quiet.

"This week," Anakin said with a little smile. "Homecoming's over the weekend so things could change."

And that was just him running into Bel again!

"Does that mean a lot of arrests or something?"

Which could have something to do with him running into Bel!

"Depends if anyone's gone evil since they graduated."

Oh, if only he was kidding.

Audrey eyed him carefully.

"Gone what now?"

"Turned into a vampire seemed to have been pretty trendy last year," Anakin offered.

Wasn't he helpful?

"Okay, I get it," she said, smiling good-naturedly. "Someone put you up to this? Not that I know who would, but..."

"Nothing supernatural in your universe, huh?" he guessed, not without sympathy.

She didn't believe it, but she also didn't think he was lying.

"No." Give it time. "Okay, tell. Vampires and people going evil is a thing here?"

"Not an everyday thing," Anakin said, "but not entirely out of the realm of possibility."

"Uh huh. Do you happen to have anywhere I could make a quick phone call?" You know, so she could wtf at her boss.

"Sure," Anakin said. "Go ahead and use my office."

"Thanks," she said, and disappeared into it for about two minutes.

When she came back, she smiled a little apologetically and said, "You'd think in my briefings, things like this would come up specifically."

"It happens around here a lot," Anakin replied. "Our profile is a little...hard to explain."

"How 'bout we try," said Audrey.

"Welcome to Fandom island. We're in 2011, which sometimes becomes the first surprise for people," Anakin began. "This is a multidimensional hub where people from different times and planets come together and, for many, attend high school."

It was also why Anakin stocked pamphlets like "Help! My Roommate Will Become My Archnemesis in Twenty Years!"

Audrey's eyes narrowed slightly, looking for cues that might tell her if he wasn't being entirely truthful or not.

"And when and where would you be from then?" she asked.

"A galaxy far, far away," Anakin said, with a little smile, "and a long time ago, if you go by what my grandchildren say."

One of those things startled her more than the other.

"Wait, you have grandchildren?"

Guess which.

"Two that have attended school here," Anakin said. "It's a timeline thing. I'm not that old. At all. Really. I have a two year old daughter at home."

And two 20-somethings in a different galaxy...

Audrey had no idea how she would even begin putting any of this in a report. Ever. She was not even going to think of that further right now.

"I'm sure that doesn't get confusing at all," she said evenly.
