The park, Thursday Morning
The girl sleeping on the park bench was a lot more comfortable than some might think. In fact she was sleeping better than she had in quite a while. Her head was pillowed on her back pack, the dragon hide duster she wore kept her warm, and there was an open umbrella over her head, held loosely in one hand. It'd been raining when she arrived.
Still it was probably about time for her to get up.

Jon was kind of hoping that he didn't get the exception to the rule today. Since he was going to tap on the person's boot a couple of times to wake them up.
"Nice coat, doesn't really match the umbrella though."

She squinted at the sunlight that leaked under the umbrella. "Morning already?"

"Leda?"

She stretched, and closed the umbrella. Then she sat up, and blinked at him. "Do I know you?" she asked. How long had she been gone this time?
no subject
"Yeah. I've been gone a while in my world, though. Karla didn't recognize me either." He grinned. "Although, the night the two of you were drunk on Dharo wine and chocolate dragon's milk was interesting. At least Karla doesn't blush about dirty songs anymore."

Her mind flashed back to the night he referred to, and instantly she realized who he was.
"Jon!!" Prepare to be glomped.
no subject
"The one and only!"

She certainly noticed how he'd changed. "Well you sure grew up big and strong didn't you." she said with a flirty grin.

Jon laughed again and shrugged. "Well, I'm not the only one, Miss Gladiator. Besides, you can't stay short and puny in the Academy and survive." Or in those other places.
no subject
"What academy? What've you been up to? How long as it been for you?" Answer in any order you choose. :D

"There were a few months of downtime in there, and then another few running from the bad guys before coming back here."

She had no idea where Iraq was. As far as she knew it could be not even on Earth.

Jon was pretty sure of that. "So, what happened to you?" Yes, he was talking about that scar and missing piece of ear.

"Uh let's see, kicked the peca, almost died from the withdrawal but didn't. Found out I was the lost heir of Faery, endured," she did a quick count on her fingers, "At least four assassination attempts, one of those happening here, graduated, and now I'm trying to hold the Faerie world together while my enemies try to tear it apart."
no subject
"Congrats on the peca thing. And are you going to need backup while you're here?"

"Wait, did you just ask me to some dance?"

"Oh I bet you clean up good." she said. "But call me Leda, please." She did not approve of titles.
no subject
"Okay, Leda. Just so you know, I'm a cheap date."

Part of her refusing to get a hotel room, and sacking out in the park was to reconnect with her street urchin roots.

"I've heard those can be useful." she quipped. "Do you keep the fishing supplies within sight of the fish to discourage rebellion?"
