Magic Box, Friday, October 28

Tara spent her shift decorating the shop for Halloween. It wasn't really a Wiccan holiday, but she liked the extra business the shop normally got this time of year anyhow. She put a sign in the window:

Halloween Special!
25% off all spell supplies
if you say 'Samhain' right

[OOC: Open Magic Box, no OCD.]

Ronan eyed the sign as he walked through the door, chuckling softly. "I don't imagine you get all that many wannabes. Or are they more of a problem here than I think?"

Ronan laughed, nodding. "Well, I suppose I'm not strictly pagan," he allowed, "but it is properly Samhain." And yes, he pronounced it properly. "At any rate, I was wondering if you carried any ritual blades? I'm looking for a gift for a friend. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. In fact, I'd rather prefer that it wasn't -- she's likely to... get a lot of use out of it."

There was, among the selection, a set of wood-handled knives that caught Ronan's eye. Unless you'd prefer I not mod that! "These look nice," he said. "May I take a closer look?"

[Omg sorry, either LJ just delivered this, or I completely missed it come in.]

"And not..." He considered his next words carefully. "... Overdone? Not that most wizards in my world use knives," he added. "Mostly just healers like me. But I've seen a few that are, uh, a little bit much."

Ronan pulled first one knife, then the other, out of the holder, checking their balance, their craftsmanship. "These'll do nicely," he said, finally, with a grin. "They're for a friend back home -- another healer. She's from something of a more spiritual background, so I thought she'd appreciate something a little more... traditional than the pocketknife she's using now."
