Questions for the ages:

1. Why was there a tiny group of gremlins outside the back door of the club, burning something in a metal trash bin?

2. Why had one of them actually been bold enough to knock on said back door and thrust out -- instead of its gnashy teeth -- its scaly claws at Bo, while the other one waved a hand-lettered sign?

3. Why had she actually given in and handed it what the sign was asking for? (After confiscating the box of fireworks its buddy had been carrying, because no.)

4. Why did shit like this only happen on nights when Eric was out of town?

5. Why did a bunch of gremlins think Guy needed a penny? The pay rate for teachers couldn't be that bad. Not in Fandom.

Your bartender was here, but keeping one ear cocked towards the alley for the sound of shenanigans. Or explosives.

Where your bartender did get the joke, because she'd seen that one movie with the Anonymous masks, but gremlins? Really?

"It smells like something is on fire outside," Tyrion said, as he hoisted himself onto a stool. "Hello, Bo. I'll take whatever you feel like making."

"That's because something's on fire outside," Bo answered, turning to shoot him a grin before looking over her shoulder toward the back door again. "A bunch of gremlins have a bonfire going in a can. So far it looks vaguely safe..."

"Except for the gremlins around it?" Tyrion pointed out, eyebrows up. "I'd rather not get bitten and lose my mind again. Much safer staying in here until the fire goes out."

"You got bitten?" See her not asking what he'd thought he was? ...yet? "I haven't yet." Way to ask for trouble, Bo.

She tore her attention away from the alley and returned it to the bar stock. "How does Camelot Mead sound?"

Tyrion shook his head. "No, but I spent a weekend posing as some sort of assassin. Either way, I do much better being myself." At least that way, he knew why he was uncomfortable. "And I like mead, thank you."

"Ohhh yeah. That weekend. I thought I was a flight attendant." Bo poured him a glass -- it didn't really seem like a tankard kind of drink, going from the bottle -- and set it on the bar. "A really annoying flight attendant."

"I don't know what a flight attendant is yet," Tyrion said regretfully, and sipped cautiously at his drink. "This is ... mead-like. Quite honeyed."

He swiveled a bit. "How have you been more recently?"

"It's been at least a month since I've turned into anything weird!" Bo replied proudly and...stupidly. "Though Jake did try to make me kiss a fish. Can't blame that one on Fandom, though; he's just a Newfie."

"He had me do that too," Tyrion reported. "I figured it counted as native color. Besides, he let me get drunk at the end."

"Well, you'd have to, wouldn't you!" Said the woman who'd gotten out of it via threats and offers of kissing-substitution, mind you. Bo shook her head. "Whose idea of local color is 'kiss a herring?'" Or whatever kind of fish it had really been.

"People who come up with local color to tease visitors?" Tyrion speculated. "Though you have to wonder what it was based off of to start."

"Somebody thought 'What's the grossest thing we can make strangers do if we're convincing enough?'" Bo considered that for a moment before shaking her head and wrinkling her nose. "Actually when you look at it like that, it could've been so much worse."
